I'm looking for authentic playground rhymes and singing games as practised by children in Gaelscoil. I already have Rabhlai Rabhlai and someone has sent me the DVD Spraoi le Chéile but I don't have the booklet that goes with it, unfortunately.

"Isteach agus amach tríd na geataí órga" was one we used play a lot. There's dozens of others which I can't remember though :o

    Leabhair that might be useful:
Plúra Lúra agus na Bopóga (amhráin atá ann den chuid is mó)
    Tídil Eidil Éró (amhráin thraidisiúnta)
Mo Cheol Thú (amhráin, dánta, damhsaí)
    Lámha in Áirde

    An Hócaí Pócaí
    Cuir do lámh dheas isteach
    Tarraing do lámh dheas amach
Cuir do lámh dheas isteach agus cas timpeall í
Dean an hocaí pócaí agus léim go hard
'S mar sin atá an scéal

    Cúrfa,
    Ó hócaí pócaí, (x3)
'S mar sin atá an scéal
    (Can i ndiaidh gach véarsa)
    Cuir do lámh chlé isteach.....
    Cuir do chos dheas isteach.....
    Cuir do chos chlé isteach......
And add in other body parts.

    Deir Ó Grádaigh
    Basically 'Simon Says' as Gaeilge.

There are loads of Irish songs/rhymes here (you'll have to make an account, it's a teacher's website).

Leabhar maith eile, le gach sórt rud a thaithneodh le páistí, agus le daoine fásta freisin - Cniogaide Cnagaide.
Is leabhar do dhaoine fásta é, mar níl pictiúirí deasa daite ann chun súile na ndaoine óga a tharraingt, ach tá raidhse ábhair ann le haithris don aos óg.
Sasanach a bhí ina léachtóir i UCD, Nicholas Williams, a scríobh an leabhar. Bhailigh sé an t-ábhar ó leabhartha eile, ón mbailiúchán béaloideasa agus in áiteacha eile. Go hiontach má tá gasúir agat!
