Been meaning to rant about this for ages.

I am SO sick of seeing that Marilyn Monroe quote (you know the one) on people's (well, women's) FB pages. It just makes me want to facepalm on behalf of my entire gender. There are some people who I'm not surprised have it on their page but others have disappointed me by putting it on theirs. I thought they were cooler than that. :(

Basically what that quote is saying is "Allow me to be a complete bitch or I will withold sex from you" or something. :D

    EDIT: here is the quote

    Pfft women all the same

Bitches, aint they(99.9%) all at some point during everyday?

however the other 0.1% women are fine :)

Re-post it in 0-20 years when they are a middle aged spinster due to thinking they should embrace their personality weaknesses rather than work to improve on them.

Is it a real quote or is it something that someone made up posted on the intertubes and attributed it to her. I have ONLY EVER seen these quote on Facebook pages. Anyone that has its is generally a opiniated ****tard/bitch with a overinflated ego and feeling of self worth or a hairdresser.

I agree - how many Women would find it cutesy and charming if a Guy had 2nd paragraph below as his Sig?

I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.

I'm self-centered, moody and bad-tempered, am always fcuking things up but not bothered to address this and am not interested in trying to get on with Girls. But if you're not ar$ed dealing with my shít attitude then you don't deserve me when I occasionally am not a Fcukhead.

Everyone seems to hate the first quote, so I doubt anyone would like the second one either.

I couldn't give two hoots if somebody had the Marilyn Monroe quote (never heard of it until this thread by the way, so now it's spread to even more quarters!) up in their status. Whatever floats their boat. Out of interest, why are those who give out about facebook statuses friends with those people in the first place? Surely it's a bad reflection on you that you're friends with someone who irritates the hell out of you?

Like you it's hard to know when it comes to the internets age. I read a good quote by Abraham Lincoln which sums it up well: don't believe everything you read on trhe internet

I would bet my life savings that you probably had that quote up numerous times.

Ooh, I hate that quote. I'm not usually a big fan of putting quotes on facebook anyway. Say something yourself!

Most of the women I've seen do it are annoying and obviously very insecure (they wouldn't generally be the best-looking gals), and are trying to turn the faults they've identified in themselves (moody, psychotic, thick) into plusses. And also to place the blame for being single (which they see as a fate worse than death) onto the men who apparently aren't good enough to deserve to put up with them, rather than blame themselves for being annoying twits.

I think I'll put up my own on facebook, as someone already did here. Just to show them how stupid they're being, and not because this has anything to do with my own life or opinions. Ahem..
Yeah, I piss in the shower, play computer games instead of listening to you tell me about your feelings, don't do any housework and quietly masturbate while thinking of your best friend after you've fallen asleep, but if you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best (ie. waiting till you're not around to masturbate).

But seriously, it's so divisive and confrontational, and seems to be quoted by the small (hopefully) number of women who have a completely one-sided view of relationships and think that the women should have complete control and liberty to be as demanding and crazy as they want, as their male partners are too stupid to do otherwise, owing to the fact that they've developed their entire conception of feminist theory from Boots ads.

They give most normal women a bad name. Can't we all just get along?

Oh this is weird I only heard of that quote a few days ago(yes from a female friend) but now I see it everywhere? Whats the deal? If its a real quote it should have been around for years but the past 4 days its been EVERYWHERE!!! And it is it's an excuse for acting like a bitch! Last time I checked people dont like bitches.

Anybody remember a nursery rhyme that went something like 'Girls are made of sugar and spice and all things nice' while boys are made of 'snakes and snails and puppy dogtails'

What deranged feminist bint came up with that? Disgraceful.

As I said only the other day on another forum hereabouts, any woman who uses that Monroe quote is usually* to be avoided like the very plague. Nearly* always a drama queen who uses this as an explanation/excuse.

Basic translation being, "I'm a high octane nutjob who refuses to take responsibility for my emotional state, but hey you have to take that so you get to have me at my "best" when I'm being somewhat normal. Oh I have breasts you know, so that makes it OK". Monroe being a classic example of the breed. Christ she really came across as a major headwreck. I'll take normal thanks luv. There's enough of them out there.

The older version of that were the ladies who liked that "I'm a bitch" song. Remember that one? No, you're not a bitch, you're an emotionally unstable neurotic idiot.

Anyone woman or man that revels in, nay celebrates their neurosis's should be avoided like the fcuking plague.

*I'll add usually and Nearly for fairness an all.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

Or their male partners think that pussy is rare so will put up with that stuff. Word to the wise lads, half the worlds population are in possession of one. It's not rare and believe it or not being able to find a better woman isn't rare either. I don't care how gorgeous you think she is now, loopjobs will wear you down and there will come a time when you will get tired of looking at her(and other verbs). Just pray that time arrives before you have kids and/or marry her. I've seen that happen *shudder*

Some of the ladies can fall into this trap from the other side. So afraid to be single  they'll put up with all sorts of amadans to stay attached. Blokes aint rare. And no contrary to popular good blokes aint rare either.

Got to love people quoting it. Also have to mention that Monroe was a hot and sexy sought after woman ... not some fat slapper from the flats with six kids from seven different daddies.

One or two of my Facebook pals have that as their quote and they fit that (Wibbs' description above) description exactly.

I've only two quotes on my Facebook:

Nursie: Ointment. That's what you need when your head's been cut off. That's what I gave your sister Mary when they done her. 'There, there,' I said. 'You'll soon grow an new one.'

    - Blackadder- Head

"It is better to be truthful and good....than to not"- Freddy Benson (Steve Martin)- Dirty Rotten Scroundrels.

    Sums me up perfectly.

It's been so often that the prettier the girl, the more insecure they feel. Just in my personal experiences.

you can add girls that proclaim "I'm mad I am, life and soul of the party" as something they tell you as a plus on a date, usually means "I drink a biblical amount every time I go out and wind up crying in a heap with puke covered hair"

I don't think that most of the girls that have that up realise that she suffered from emotional unstablity or borderline personality disorder....

"Oh I love her so much I want to be emotionally unstable to".

Good luck with the self harm and messy relationship side of things girls.
