This site has examples of Groom's speeches.

But really, the speech should be whatever you want it to be. Definitely thank everyone for coming, thank the brides parents and your own and anyone else that deserves a special thank you. Definitely say how beautiful your new bride is and how lucky you are to have her, that will have everyone go "awww"... you could also put in a little anecdote or joke about your relationship or any funny story you have.

Google is your friend, but make it personal.

EDIT: Don't forget to thank your groomsmen, best man, the bridesmaids and also say how beautiful the bridesmaids are if the best man doesnt say it in his speech.

what monife said sounds great. just dont make it too long. nowadays everyone seems to make a speech and it can get a little labourious! last wedding i was at the speech by the groom was lovely. touching, funny and covered all the thank yous and said how lucky he was. hit the spot.

Very true. 10 mins is good for grooms speech. But keep it upbeat!

Doesn't the groom thank the mammys and present them with the flowers too? Mammys are very important so don't forget that :)
Start with the thanking everyone, end with a toast to your beautiful bride, and Monife has great stuff for inbetween

The grooms speech should be to thank everyone involved in the day, bridal party, parents, priests, venue/suppliers etc, and to thank the guests for coming particuraly those who've travelled the most.
And of course a lovely tribute to his new wife. A quick anecdote is fine here too, but leave the comedy and character assasinations to the best man.:D

agreed. Wedding I went to the groom said he was suprised to see his bride look so wonderful, it just came out wrong and everyone laughed. He meant to say that she looked amazing, full stop, not that it surprised him... don't make that mistake ;)
