    Hello,

for the moment as our suppliers don’t offer it at discount prices at least not at this time

we are in talks with suppliers right now but some far we got no reply or confirmation about this from them or HP directly if they will honour this rebate.

If the price will change the website will be updated accordingly and so all backorders.

    Best regards

    eXpansys UK
    HTC & Parrot partner

Got this in reply when asking if they were charging the full 499.

    Keep the faith!

managed to order one, requesting bank transfer (dodn't want to freeze over 500 euro on credit card)
I'm going to wait with transafer hoping that the price will get down
I was wondering how many "crazy" people like me did the same?

Someone mentioned being addicted to this thread, I'm the same this is the last thing I'm reading before bed and when getting up. My efficency at work is very low :D

Expansys are tweeting that it could be early next week before they know more.

Does anyone know why there are no signs of pre 3?

The pre 3 seems to be a tricky one to find in Ireland. IIRC it was only released in the UK the day before the firesale. There probably weren't as many of them manafactured as the Touchpad.

In the body of the email there's no time shown on the order confirmation.
The time for the email in gmail is 20:10, but this is always adjusted based on the user's time zone to show the relevant time.

I think my mail from FNAC came with a time stamp of an hour earlier than my booking.

Hopefully, if expansys get stock, they honour those preorders in the order they were made and don't just randomly give them out to whoever made preorders.

Also, do they actually have stock that they are not giving out until they can lower the price? Because some people on here said they were accidentally charged the full price and sent a touchpad.

that sounds to predictable and orderly, the obvious way to allocate it is via a country wide treasure hunt with clues being tweeted every 37.5 seconds ... :D

Wow - thread still going. I gave up after the Elara debacle. Seriously, these things are selling on ebay in the midst of the crazy demand for an average 200. Thats the most they will sell for - in a month, youll pick them up for 100.

    No means No.
Actually there seems to be a lot of confusion in the thread about. "No stock" or "Out of stock" can mean that they actually have some in the stock room, just that they're all reserved and not available for gerneral sale. It can also mean that there's none in their stock room, but more might be delivered from the central warehouse. At this stage they probably don't have any anwyhere, reserved or not, but there is still a chance.

Expansys seem to be taking pre-orders for the 32GB for €499.99 (for now anyway)...

Would ya get stuck payign 499 with them though?

    Hi all,

Been watching this thread for the last few days and just placed a pre order on expansys. I called their support and was told that if they could supply one to me it would be at a lower price, but they didn't know exactly how much. They'll email me when they know and I'll have to confirm that I'm happy to pay before they send it. They don't know when they'll have them in or how many they'll get though. They also asked me to send a scanned utility bill as proof of address.

See, people keep saying this and I'm not so sure. That would make sense, if they were continuing to make Touchpads, but they're not. These are a limited supply. That means ebay sellers could charge a premium, and they would still remain the cheapest, half-way decent tablets around for the foreseeable future. I mean, I hope that's not the case because I haven't got one, but I could see that happening.

Can anyone help me , Im not familiar with bank transfers.

I managed to get an order in for a touchpad on Expansys.ie . I decided to choose bank transfer as method of payment,

The company have emailed me there bank details.

How long do I have to send that money to them for my order to stay valid??

    Thanks

Just off the phone from Argos Tallaght, I had a reservation number for one but they said they never got any in stock, dont know whether thats true or not, also asked if they had any cases anywhere, they said there are no cases in the entire country.

I think Harvey Normans and PC world are the winners here, They made it clear how many they had, they never took any reservations and they were very fair with their first come first serve basis. Not to mention they were selling them for 16gb:€99 32gb:129, instead of Argos selling at 16gb:€110 32GB:€145

I wouldn't transfer any money until they drop the price. I've had my preorder for the last couple of days without them taking any money from my card so I wouldn't worry about it.

They are decent tech - but the majority of people who bought one, just got it cus its a bargain price. They would never have bought a tablet normally, so after the newness wears off, expect them to be up for sale cus they need the cash for the next must have item.

I dont see laser-disc players in high demand anywhere

I agree that the ebay tablets are not going to drop any time soon but the amazon android tablet is set for an october release and is expected to be sold at a loss (C. $250) so that is another option for those of us who miss out here.

I admitted defeat about a half hour ago after a week where I had an estimated delivery date from amazon from my order confirmed at 00:01 (canceled) and a reservation number from argos due to collect today that I was told was worthless.

Anyone with FNAC orders it appears they've gotten enough 32gb Touchpads to cover those orders, no luck with 16gb ones so if you ordered them you're probably out of luck.

    Hello everyone,
Good news for those who ordered a 32 GB Touchpad We were able to finally get the stock required for orders placed on availability can still be honored.

Regarding the touchpad 16 GB, unfortunately we can not fulfill orders. However, if excess Touchpad 32 GB, we will get back to you next week for you to benefit primarily, if desired.

Fcuk sake, wasn't bothered about which size so just put the 16GB in my basket cos I figured the 32GB was better value so everyone would go for it. :pac:
