Advice please on a solid fuel Stove or a Range?

I was looking at getting a solid fuel stove (probably one with a back boiler so it can heat the radiators & hot water). While looking at all the different products I was wondering if it would be worth my while getting a solid fuel range - and then being able to cook on it.

I am going to keep the oil in the house so will have to get a twin coil cylinder - so we will be able to have heat on timer also.

If I was going to get a stove to heat radiators & boiler - is it that far a step forward to get a range (I was raised with a solid fuel Stanley - so know everything on how to clean & the work involved).

Any experience, advice or warnings would be really appreciated.

Nice stanley range, you can throw what you like into it, even the things the council says you cant

You could just go for a flat topped stove with backboiler. A lot cheaper to buy.
If I was to buy a solid fuel range it would probably be a warmsler. Warmsler is german I believe. Supposed to be far more economical than a rayburn etc and you can raise/lower the grate for different boiler outputs. You could look for a used tirolia. They are good. Just make sure the boiler is sound.

If you only wanted to run 2 very small rads and water how about an esse ironheart? Although they are mostly steel. It even has a glass door to view the fire:) Or a standard esse.
