I recently got my free to air setup completed with my ferguson combo boxes.
I have decided that I will order a humax foxsat hdr 500gb freesat receiver for my living room and put my ariva box upstairs.
I will buy a saorview receiver and harmony 650 remote control to integrate everything.
My question is simply do I insert the existing sat cable into my humax and scan for channels and post code, or will it be necessary to run a second cable from my dish to my humax and if this was required why, looking for some advice please thanks,
forgot to mention am I right in thinking the dish will not need to be realigned because it is already tuned to fta.

With the Humax box you need to enter a UK post code. I entered a London code which works good.

Yes you will need to run a second cable from the dish as it is a dual tuner. One for reception and one to record. There is an option to by-pass second tuner but you do not have the recording capabilities of the dual tuner.

If you go onto the Humax website you can download their user manual and that explains all. http://www.humaxdigital.com/global/support/downloadcenter_manual.asp
