I think it is 150, back 4-5 years ago it was 300 before the IT crash. It think CS at trinity is next with 30 or so. However, not to scare you, after 1st year there is likely be less than half of the originals left.

Ah right, sorry, it's quite hard to find out numbers properly! I have heard that before, it's expected to have some dropouts but on the open day somebody did say it was something like 60% drop out rate

Yeah it is typical. Worse in Engineering as I recall. Just keep up with the tutorials and the work and try not to get too washed up in the college experience. But also do not miss out on the fun. It is a tough balance for CA and Engineering.

Thanks a lot, I'll try my best! I'm looking forward to it actually, was talking to a few incoming CA students on IRC chat last night, and there seems to be some nice people in my course anyway.
    Are you still in DCU?

Just finishing my masters in computer aided mechanical and manufacturing engineering. Yeah DCU I feel has the best support network. People are very nice and I would not have gone elsewhere. I know allot of CA grads who have gone on to google bookface etc etc

All the physics students are lumped together for most of the time from what I can see, bar a few lectures here & there.

Guess we'll be seeing a lot of each other so! :)

Wow, well done, are you going to go on for a doctorate next, or will you leave it? Really liked the feel I got from DCU when I visited before, especially compared to other colleges, and the fact it's such a brilliant degree to have too! That's brilliant, I suppose those kind of places keep their eye on the graduates alright!

Nah, no to the doctorate, I have been asked but I am working in the US now. Just back to polish off the masters and get back to work.

3 of the girls in my group do french, but they all do it through a different course, 1 through applied language, 1 through european business and french and 1 through international business and languages (the old version of business studies international) the people who do international business and languages and applied languages had french together last year, normally european business have a smaller class coz they only do 1 language wereas the other 2 course do 2 languauges

In some modules we are anyway. If you look here, it lists all the modules for 2010/2011 (which give a rough guide if anything) and by clicking on a specific module, it lists near the bottom what other courses lumps students into those modules. Congrats btw :D
