Please forgive me, but there has been about 15 pages his 8am and I don't want to read all that. Could someone tell me if it is known if my Argos reservation for a 32GB will be honoured. Can be picked up Friday - Tuesday.
It's up in the air still, and the information we have isn't very clear.

All stores are saying they have "no stock". Some people with an in-date reservation seem to have gotten one, so there's a chance "no stock" means that they have some in the stock rooms but they're all reserved. There's been different stories about when the next deliveryies of stock will be, some saying they will match the reservation dates, others saying not till September. One user claims to have seen the stock screen, that items were checked out to a manager, whoe then claimed the stock was sent back to HP. Another user who spoke to two managers in one store got a number of different stories about them being sold first come first served, them never having had any stock, and stock being sent back. Another user claims they recieved a phone call and were told their reservation was cancelled. The Argos helpers twitter feed claims reservations will be met.

What will actually happen is anyone's guess.

But those of us who made reservations, can they GET our stock is the issue

i'd say realistically no, but i'd hope yes.
see the problem is that EVERYONE wants them, and a load of places just want them for their staff, so I doubt much will trickle to consumers

aside: a lot of shops with "stock" online have disappeared (also talking about pre3) i'm guessing that staff got first dibs ...

aside two: would this not be a great viral campaign by hp, loads of people now have their os, so they can say to devs 100% certain that x number of units are being used, and that means there is a market ... I mean tomorrow HP could say "given the response of the public, we will continue the product".

21:14. the page for 32Gb had 4 available from FNAC when I ordered & a while after that it changed to only showing 3rd party sellers for >€500

My Argos reservation placed yesterday (in stock and ready to collect immediately at full price) was honoured, has just been collected at €145. :D

Just woke up... I suppose Argos is now also out of stock in Ireland reservations or not?

May as well re-issue my plea... if anyone has a spare reservation code knocking about could I have it please? I'll be working on the Touchdroid project when I get it so you know it won't go to waste.

I had mine reserved and it was held for me by the store but I was there at openning time. None showed up on the stock check but my reservation number was still valid and the item had been put aside for me.

Your best bet is to ring the store and ask them as it may vary from store to store.

I emailed misco last night to see what they were at and why they ignored us. Below is the generic lie. The 300 units never made the website. Sales team sold them. No doubt all their families are sorted because the sales line wasn't being picked up after 4 yesterday.
    Good afternoon,

Thank you for your recent email.

Yesterday we received an unprecedented volume of traffic to our website in regards to the recent price drop on the HP TouchPad. This not only affected Misco but many other online retailers. Unfortunately, as a result the Misco website was unable to meet these exceptional demands leading to many customers being unable to access the website to place orders.

These offers were massively oversubscribed and exceeded all expectations. With the website unable to function correctly the limited stock was sold quickly through our sales teams and therefore unfortunately never made it to the website.

We are committed to you, our valued customers and are taking immediate corrective steps to regain your confidence in us. We have begun to take measures internally to manage similar events in future and in order to provide customers with more timely information for handling operational difficulties. We are confident, as a result of these actions, that Misco will be more reliable and responsive to customers.

Nothing is more important to us than regaining your trust and we hope that you give us the opportunity to display our strengths as one of the UK’s leading IT & electronic resellers and provide you with the positive experience you have come to expect from us.

We are now out of stock of the Touchpad and we will not be receiving anymore deliveries of the items.

    Kind regards

    <name was here>

Argos is usually very good for customer service, i would say they will honor the reservations. Just call the store!

They cancelled my reservation with no reason why, that doesn't seem like good service to me. Same also happened to one or two other posters on here.

Phoned Argos, such a bunch of knuckle draggers. TouchPad has been withdrawn, recalled, dog ate my homework.

I have a confirmed reservation, collection today and the CS manager is telling me that it won't be filled. She's ringing back soon. I also heard from a staff member that the TouchPads that came in for reservations were taken by Argos staff members in store.

I got the same response that they were re called. Don't know why they just didn't take it of the argos website.

Pretty much the first thing I assumed when there was talk of reservations not being fulfilled. The same is probably true for any other shops or websites where the touchpad mysteriously never seemed to make it for sale - staff members holding them back for themselves and family members.
