well the father in law got my reserved 16gb pad in argos in omagh for me, no prob at all, i just got the reservation last night. i hope it isn't a big letdown! it was ninety pound i think..

This is ridiculous. Staff getting preferential treatment AGAIN. Even though some of us have reservation numbers, staff (even managers) are swiping them anyway.

What are the people that show up going to do? Demand to buy someone else's touchpad that is reserved already? Argos wont allow that, that would be severely damaging to their credibility and customer trust. Its argos we are talking about. No reservation code; no touchpad for you unfortunately. 90% of people with reservation codes will look for their touchpad on the first day the price drops.

I'd have no problem reporting it to area managers if you suspect your order was cancelled due to staff taking them.

Managed to get a reservation last night just after the elara fiasco. Have someone on route to pick it up now. Bought it as a present for my sister and its a bit of a drive to the store so fingers crossed its in stock!

Just been to Argos Ilac Centre with my reservation number and he said there not in stock. Although my email said collection by Sunday he said the delivery won't be in until Saturday/Sunday. And then I've two days to collect it from the time it arrives.

So maybe some bordsies should try their luck the weekend. Probably easier as well since no work for most. But they probably are all reserved but no harm in trying.

i checked all the dublin argos stores yesterday afternoon and there were none anywhere, so i guess it was released from early reservers who'd timed out after 48 hours or whatever it is.

Thanks johncb, I just rang and it's still not in stock, they are not getting a delivery today, there will be a delivery tomorrow morning but it could be up to 12 noon before they know if they had the stock for the reservation.

I will check again then. Fingers crossed that we get them

What exactly is going on with argos? All the stock is gone around the country, but lots of people have reservations for the weekend, for stock coming in apparently. Is stock really going to come in on Friday or saturday for those reservations or is that it for argos already?
