    Nobody is talking about rebates. We are talking about new stock, still in the supply chain but not yet delivered to retailers. The hope is that there is still stock in factories and in the distribution chain and that HP will apply the new price to this stock, and it will be passed on to customers with outstanding orders.

    I dont think that was an offer somehow, but more of an answer to a question, as those of us who reserved these in argos days ago all seem to have gotten different collection dates....

    AMAZON ORDERS
    I've just got off the phone to Amazon. You can ring them yourselves and they will offer the same information.

    Last night, they had a small stock which some few people managed to receive. The people with "no delivery estimate" have NO stock allocated to their order. We have merely preordered the product for when it becomes available next. She also confirmed however, that Amazon are in communication with HP and their suppliers to receive more stock. "If or when new stock becomes available, customers who ordered the item last night but are showing "no delivery estimate" are first priority." The next shipment of items will be reserved for those people like ourselves if they can get stock at all.

    Dont say that! Be bad enough not to get a touchpad after all this obsession and entertainment, but to also have a disappointing christmas as well, thats just too much!! :(

    Someone on hotukdeals wrote in the thread an Argos code for Newcastle which the person had but couldnt get there to collect it and now there must be like tons of people who are gonna go to Argos in Newscastle to claim the same touchpad! Pretty funny stuff...

    problem is they will suspend all the pre-orders if this becomes an issue!

    Surely with over a million of these tablets hitting the streets in the past few days the price of the accessories will go up, not down??

    This is surely where the retailers stand to make their money if they have a minimal margin on the touchpads??

    If i was a store selling of the tablets cheap, i would not have the accessories on deal... these wont be discontinued any time soon....

    So the price for the Touchpad has dropped with Argos but only after reserving them in the UK and the price has only changed in the sms confirmation, not the site...

    Retailers are not making a cent on the TouchPad. HP agreed to pay the retailer directly back the price they were charged minus 99.

    No. No, no, no. HP are selling them to retailers for a stupidly low price, on top of which goes VAT and their margin.
