The way things have been going since the launch of the firesale all I can say is that for a product that HP are getting rid off there sure seems to be a lot ow owners out there now!!!! So folks at 99 euro price point you get a ready market within 2 days!!!!! Any other manufacturer fancy getting some action?

Now seriously where can we get one of these tablets? Anyone want to give me an Argos reservation code for Galway?

That isn't my plan. They're out of stock do I'm on pre order. I reckon there must be loads of these in the supply chain since the announcement is very recent.

I dont intend to pay full price.

Anyone successfully place an order at Dabs.ie today?

Are you out of the "security check" in the order status yet?

Yep, it's currently processing at the moment. I seen on twitter that some uk dabs orders shipped. I wonder if any Irish ones have yet.

Yeah, have you still got your paddle...? They invited you to treat, you offered to pay at face value, if they accepted it sounds like a contract to me. If you haven't paid yet and it's only in your basket, you're ok. Otherwise I hope they're feeling more amenable towards you than they were towards me!

    Dear Sir,

I am sorry to say that there will be no price adjustments on this unit.

    Kind Regards

In saying that, it'd be very poor show on their part to hammer you for full price when the rest of the world is having a firesale. Very bad customer relations. Let us know how it goes!

Sweet, didn't expect it but mine is marked processing too. In the past I always seem to get caught up in their security check...addresses don't exactly match or something. I wonder if this is really happening? I'm still pessimistic... afterall, it's dabs!

Right now, the best bet is to consider that HP had not shipped large quantities to distribution, but now the things are off loading like hot cakes, anything left in the warehouse will be pushed to the distribution channels next week. There will be more coming, although they won't make any more. All we are seeing today is what was already in the distribution channel.

    Do not panic.

I don't know about that. I am living in the US and all bricks and mortar stores are either sold out or have sent there stock back to HP.

There is going to be a second wave today or tomorrow, but it will nearly all be through HP Home and office store or HP Academy. None of the retailers here are going to get any more stock.

It may be different in Ireland, but i doubt it. Whoever is the main distributor for HP in ireland will be the best bet over the next couple of days.

i thought it was only bricks and mortors shops not going to get more stock?

EDIT< as in the online retailers will be the only ones ( & hp) receiving the next wave of shipments

Reservation at the higher price though with no official word from argos referring to it at time of reservation.

Maybe they will do like they done a while back with those mispriced hard drives.

Cancel the lot of reservations! ( well a fair amount if i remember correctly)

Why would they? They're not going ton lose out HP will rebate the difference (providing they get stock)

    Very true...im getting confused.

I kinda ment cancel reservations if they were going to offer it at a lower price.
But that makes no sense at all really. My bad.

Lads, would you chill out now and have a cold beer? :-) It's amazing to see this thread has 265 000 views and still counting. Could we get to half a million?

To anyone who bought the touchpad today at full price at expansys. This was the agreement you signed up to: http://i.imgur.com/cAg6S.jpg

It clearly states that they will not charge you without confirming the order a second time when their stock arrives.

If they do go ahead and charge you without a second confirmation and refuse to cancel it, call your bank. They will ask you to send a letter to them detailing why you think they should make a charge back to your credit card/bank account.

    Show them that jpg.

This sort of thing has happened to me before and it always works out. I've mentioned this before on this thread but it looks like it needs to be said again.

I'd like to see how that works out for them. They simply aren't worth full price now they've been discontinued.
