Shower enclosure fixing to insualted plasterboard?

    Posting here as some of the Plumbers might have done what I need info for:confused:

    Have to install a 1m wide x 1.9m high fixed glass screen on a tiled shower upstand (to form an enclosure).
    My question relates to the fixing I need to use to hold the vertical support rail to the wall??

    The wall is porcelin tile on 4" insulated plaster board, which is dabbed onto a standard masonary wall. Would a standard rawl-plug take the weight of the screen? Or is there another plug I can get, considering I must hold it within the insulation to the back of the plasterboard.

    Supplier warned me NOT to put silicone onto the back of the rail as it is a "Dry Fix" system.

    Any help welcome as last thing I want obviously is for the insulated slab to come crashing down:o

    Get a frame fixer that will go into the wall http://www.lenehans.ie/lenehans/Main/Product2.asp?ProdID=504 or similar at a reasonable cost.

    I love when the suppliers do this. The problem you have is the floor and wall is never usually flush. What we use to do us put 2 wedges of acrylic glass under the glass to line the profile up then fix it to the wall with heavy plugs. When we silicone along the base it would hide the wedges.

    Off course the problem with that now is some of them dont allow for siliconing along the base.

    Yes standard plugs will do frame fixers will not be suitable
