I think that is sellers on the Amazon marketplace that are selling it for so much, not Amazon themselves.

Why would you hope thats true, Amazon have had them up at crazy money all day long. Bear in mind this is a tablet with obsolete OS and zero future support.... for the price your better off adding a ton and getting a Xoom.

Amazon had them listed at 89£ last night - and people continue to say that even though its far from true.

they'res thousands of people looking for an android port now - demand = supply

also, HP are not dropping support for webOS only the tablet.

He speaks the truth, if a port to android does surface (and is very likely) its not going to be without its problems.

In isolation the HP is a good deal but theres a fair amount of impulse buying going on, some sore heads and buyers remorse are inevitable. Havign said that i still want one:confused:

For €99, I dont care if its got "zero future support" or not, but thats not true. This sale around the world is going to create an underground community, and I expect an underground app store to be created for apps made by the public. And then theres touchdroid or whatever its called. Then when people figure out how to hack it, it will open a world of possibilities for the tablet.

Obviously I hope its true, as I want a touchpad. Isn't that the point of this thread

Amazon had the 16 Gb dropped last night, and not the 32Gb EVER. and they have ramped up the price again today....

Support for WebOS being dropped for the tablet. is the same as Support being dropped. There will be no Apps. Do i have to draw a picture kev ?

99Euro is a bargain, will you read my posts. Im talking about people going crazy and willing to spend 200 plus and hoping amazon who only dropped their prices on 16gb at midnight get more.....

I hope other retailers get more that have a reasonable consistent price. ;)

So why are the people who are claiming it's a dead device even posting? Just leave us to it.

    I got one yesterday.

You can pike, not that I condone it, all the apps on the market. This gives you some decent games, a decent google reader app, a video player that plays multiformat and supports streaming from a server desktop app (think Air Video). It surfs the web, shows flash content, plays music mp3 and lossless.

In short it does everything an iPad or Android tablet does pretty much just as well, it only falls down on the paucity of the App market, though it does cover off must of the bases for the core apps you would like - ereader, kindle, rss etc etc

I also have an iPad, but I am very impressed with this Touchpad, and for 99 euro you will be very happy indeed even if it never gets an update or an Android port.

Just for accuracy: Amazon has NOT ramped up the price, their marketplace sellers have... Different thing entirely.

I benefited from the price drop at midnight.
