    Pre-order to BE FIRST

Just received an email ex expansys:

    Hello,

for the moment we do not know the price as our suppliers don’t offer it at discount prices at least not at this time so your order is on hold till we will have the confirmation.

You card has not been charged but the money has been reserved according the value of the order.

we are in talks with suppliers right now but some far we got no reply or confirmation about this from them or HP directly if they will honour this rebate.

If this is confirmed, we will contact all backorders and let them know the new price and asked them to RE-confirm the orders before shipping them out.

    Best regards

..guarantee you that these will be offloaded in the coming weeks/months by people who've bought multiples.

Yeah, but human nature being what it is, the various crap hounds will be looking to milk the hysteria.

You can't buy anything close to this for €99, isn't the panel the same as the iPad? ..from the same hardware supplier?

I can see stable Ubuntu and various other builds popping up on this long before Android.

Insight have sold out. 1200 units over the lunch break.

Who is this Insight company - If they only sold out 1200 units in the last 2 hours? Why was it not posted here.

I have a laptop and phone for checking emails/browsing...

Good deal don't get me wrong if you can get it but people are literally wasting their days and nights looking for these judging by this thread, guarantee you that these will be offloaded in the coming weeks/months by people who've bought multiples.

And guarantee you wont get one for 99 euro off John Doe who bought multiples, because John Doe is greedy (clearly demonstrated by his buying of multiples) and will sell said multiples for 150 plus or whatever people are willing to pay!

I posted a link with advance warning, I then posted as soon as the price drop was announced. Check if you don't believe me. ;)

No idea if it has the same panel as the iPad, would be lying if said I did. How many people looking for these tablets can genuinely say they can install Ubuntu/Android OS on the tablet? Offhand I couldn't and I'd be more tech savy than most of my mates, I'm sure it's simple enough process if there's step by step instructions on a website though.

Anyway, good luck to everyone trying to get their hands on these, try not to waste too much of your time!!

I can but then again i've experience working with Android and Linux. I wouldn't expect too many "normal" people to be able to get Ubuntu let alone Android on to it for a while until the developers have it a bit more polished.

I'd say the vast majority will be stuck with WebOS unless a simple one click install method is developed.

'Stuck with WebOS' isn't such a burden IMHO, it's really not a bad OS, just not quite as good as you'd want on a €4-500 odd tablet.

Hmmm. I hope that's wrong, re 23:30... I searched Amazon as first port of call at around 23:40 and saw nothing. But then wouldn't have necessarily noticed the right-side bar. Order went in at about 00:13 ultimately and, no, nothing here.

i got a confirmation of my order around 0:02 i thnik. I was checkin amazon before 12 and it definetly had not been reduced until midnight

It's not a bad OS alright but there's a surprising number of people here who've bought these who think they'll have a nice shiny bug free Android ROM by next week with a lovely one click installer. It never works out like that. Even more surprising is the number of people who bought it without actually understanding what it is.

Come to think of it, the price before midnight was the full price Was it not??
I was online a good bit before 12 and didnt see it move down till after midnight? aswell as thousands of other boardsies folks
