FNAC seem to be a reputable retailer, i have an order confirmed and it when i check the status it says:

Commande en préparation

Votre article est actuellement en cours de préparation.
Un mail vous confirmera très prochainement son expédition.

OR IN ENGRISH:

Order preparation

Your article is currently being prepared.

An email will confirm shortly shipment.

On Fnac.com, card payments are debited at the time of shipment or confirmation of the seller for an order MarketPlace, and only for the amount for items shipped.

I didnt get the confirmation from FNAC, but then i put in the billing address as my shipping address, which it isnt! So card wouldn't go though presumably

My status on FNAC.
Control being validated bank.

When i click on it, it then pops up.
Confirm is your order. she is currently being prepared.
You will recieve an email shortly when shipped.

To me this still isnt confirmation.
Its just saying that they are in the process of preparing it for shipping & will charge the card once its ready to ship.

Pessimist?

You won't know if you have it from FNAC until you get a despatch email.

I've ordered one using paypal and paypal is showing it as a payment authorisation only, the money hasn't been taken yet just reserved.

Pretty sure that's all you are seeing on your CC accounts also.
