ah, I'm looking at 32gb. Not really sure why, as it has a microSD slot so memory isnt really an issue.

    UNLIKE WITH THE IPAD!

    32gb down to 889

don't think it has a microSD slot

I just bit the bullet and ordered a full price 16gb. Either HP will refund the difference or I can return no questions asked with the 7 day no quibble period. Handy enough cos they have a collection point in Dublin so I should be able to pick it up and return it at the same time

My gut feel is HP will refund the money to anyone who paid full price...

Thats me :D All online shopping in europe has a 7 day no quibble return policy :) From their own website

Unwanted or unsuitable products may be returned to hpshop.ie within 7 working days of receipt of goods. This is in line with the "Distance Selling Directive" as long as the goods are not opened and the packaging remains in an ‘as new’ state and the goods are in a resalebale condition.

There is no memory card slot. You trolling had failed and you look silly, good day to you sir.

Anyone in email contact with hpshop? I mailed them earlier, but haven't heard back. They have a good few UK people looking at them too, in a thread I saw somewhere on some other site, but I don't know if they actually deliver abroad.

Went out to HN Carrickmines earlier and missed the last ones by a few mins, few people checking them out at the til as I went in :(

Went over to PC World and the fella there said they only had 6 in stock since the release and hadn't sold any. I'd say it'll be the same in most places here, small stock levels and the staff will take most.

I reserved one this morning and they said grand we'll keep it. Think they'll still have it?

Are you guaranteed one if you have an Argos reservation number??

I really hope so. But then it would be unfair if people reserved loads of them (no obligation to buy) to stop people walking in and buying them.

So everyones going mad for something that isnt going to be supported, has few apps and isnt going to be developed, you wont be able to take back and that a netbook would do the job just as well if not better?

    Just because its reduced?!

The Good: The HP TouchPad uses Palm's unique WebOS interface and delivers Adobe Flash-enabled Web browsing, Beats audio enhancement, and impressive compatibility with third-party calendar, messaging, and e-mail services.
The Bad: The TouchPad has a thick, smudgy design, offers no rear camera or HD video capture, includes a limited app selection, and its unique cards system of multitasking isn't as fully utilized as it could be.
The Bottom Line: The TouchPad would have made a great competitor for the original iPad, but its design, features, and speed put it behind today's crop of tablet heavyweights.
But for €99, who could say no?

Doesnt matter a toss. There's a team working on porting Gingerbread to it. So you'll have the good hardware with great software.

I wont miss a camera (generally carry my proper one with me when I'll need it, or have my phone which'll do the job if required), but I do like the idea of decent speakers.

The modding communities will be on top of it quite fast and will probably create a nice ecosystem.
Same thing happened with Nokia tablets a few years back. for 99euro it is a bargain given its specs.

Exactly ye. The issue there is that it will be a pita to return it and the Distance Selling regs say the returns costs are down to you. So if it doesn't work out you've got to organise to get it back and pay the postage. I also ordered one on Currys.ie as I know they are dropping to 99 in the morning. I suspect they will cancel my order as out of stock, but we'll see...

    Troll: Defeated.

I'd be careful using the word troll my friend, all I am doing is pointing out this insane desire for something just because its cheap.
100 euro is still a lot of money in my book to throw at something and find it useless or not suited to what you wanted it to do after a month or so.
No harm in that is there?
