It's not where the tattoo is, it's what the tattoo is that determines it's all round shíteness.

It takes a hell of alot more than a tatoo on your neck to make you cheap and tacky.

Though, it's not my bag. Whatever floats your boat!

I have a few tattoos, but I make sure they're all hidden from open sight.

So for example, if I happen to get a job that requires a suit in the future, it doesn't look as "good" if I had a lot of visible tattoo's.

Some tattoos on the back of the neck can be quite good, as long as it's not that god awful Barcode. It's actually worse than a tramp stamp.

Agreed. I have a good few tattoos myself but I can hide them if needed.

I don't like cheap and tacky decoration, so I don't like tatoos

I'm assuming you haven't seen to many tattoos then.
I'm not talking about the silly little flowers, or hearts with Mom written through them or those silly little designs so many women get on the lower back.

There are some incredible pieces of art in tattoo form, incredible designs with intricate details.

You should look up some of the work by artists like Kat von Dee, Mr. Sebastian and so on. They do (did) some beautiful work.

I like to be able to change my taste in art and redecorate.

Tattoos themselves are cheap and tacky.

I never understand this argument, when your old and saggy, you're well.....old and saggy - the absence of discolouring blurred ink ain't going to transform you into a gorgeous 20 yr old again.

I'd prob never get one (certainly not on my neck), it'd just look daft on my pasty irish skin - that said it suits others perfectly and some girls with tatts can look incredibly hawt;)

Tattoos themselves are cheap and tacky.

    I don't understand this viewpoint.

I do understand that some people may not like tattoos, and have no urge to get them, but I don't see how they are cheap and tacky.

It's like saying every painting is cheap and tacky. Some are, some aren't. And like a painting some of them are breathtakingly wonderful pieces of art.
Some people get tattoos to remind them of loved ones, living and dead, some get them to remind them of parts of their lives (I have one for that reason), and yes, some do get them purely because they like the picture.

But by saying tattoos are cheap and tacky, you're also saying that all paintings are cheap and tacky.

    of course they are...

But of course to the person they are not and can have a lot of meaning...

You've no right to say something that can be in some way seen as a peace of art.

I think its what the tattoo, is that makes it tacky.....

A tattoo could look like the Mona Lisa, doesnt change the fact that it is simply a stupid decision to have one done. Visible tattoos are just the height of this stupidity.

I'm not tattoo person at all. I always think it makes people look rough!!

If I did get one I would want to change it after a few weeks!

So in other words nobody should ever say they dislike anything because someone somewhere might think it's nice? Think before you type.

Ruining your skin with ink looks cheap and tacky in my opinion. It's fairly easy to comprehend :P

If i did that I wouldnt be the person I am to day... :pac:

Go wash the sand out of your vagina... or maybe just have a dam installed dont think your fit for breading :)

People who say all tattoos are tacky and cheap are living in the dark age like old stooges who only think about how bad it might look when they get old, you might die tomorrow and no one will give a fuck what a tattoo looks like in the coffin.

It's a form of art and meaningful for the person who has it done for the most part.

I dont have any tatts myself but could possibly get one done in the future as i have friends who have gotten nice ones done.

They aren't cheap. Tacky is in the eye of the beholder.

Doesn't take painful lasers and scarring to take off fake tan and make-up
