In Switzerland cable companies can carry any channel on cable provided it can be received FTA on satellite.

They are also not in the EU so have different rules to us.

You will have Big Brother, it starts on Thursday.

5* (their sister channel) will only be showing Big Brother's Bit on the Side 2 nights a week (its on C5 every other weeknight). You won't be missing anything.

Anyway, there are ways to watch it online if you know where to look on boards.

I have a feeling they will just block the signal and you will get nothing on screen when channel 5 are showing it.

My guess is the Irish TV channels wouldn't pay enough for the rights to show it and edemol or whoever owns it are making sure it won't be available for free here.

You can watch it online here:

    http://www.brittv.co.uk/

Unfortunately, you have to pay to watch 5* but that will only have the odd episode of BBBOTS anyway which will probably be available to view elsewhere.

    Also, try here: http://bbliveuk.com/

It is not possible to block it. If they block it in Ireland via satellite then they are blocking it in the UK too.

It cannot be blocked in Ireland without blocking it in the UK also. Now why would they do that?
