    Newbie, here so looking for some advice

    Will ditch UPC and replace with a Saorview system

    I noticed some Combi boxes, have a LAN port, what's that used for : Firmware updates, or can u browse web using combi box


    Have a fairly decent surround sound system, with a optical input, hoping that I will get surround sound, from my Saorview system, Combi boxes, is this possible

    Will be looking someomne to fit box and dish and aerial, any reccomendations welcome

    Lan ports are used for different things depending ontn he box but many have internet radio and a few other features, I've not come across one yet with we brwosing but thats not to say theres not one out there. Most combos have optical and/or coaxial audio out so Dolby digital etc should be ok on most. Hope this helps

    Re the LAN port,can I use watch RTÉ player , bbci player etc

    Will bbci player, work outside UK, does not work over Web, if u have an Irish IP
