    Hi

I have been getting a lot of No Satellite Signal being received messages in the last week if I change channel. If I go up or down a channel and then come back the channel is fine.

I am also getting some failed recordings.

When there is no channel displayed the system tells me that Input 1 has no signal. When it returns moments later , signal quality and strength is fine!

Could this be a failing LNB?

Box is Amstrad SKY HD btw.

Could be. Could also be that the dish needs realigning or could be a cable fault.

I had this the other day too, I plugged it out for a few minutes, then I plugged it back in again, thankfully that worked!

I had it today, plugged out and straight back and it worked.

Check the connections at the back of your box & to the wall next time it goes.
That's what caused some of my outages with kids messing with the box, I used some glue on one of the F-Connectors.
Rebooting the box wont hurt either.

We've been having problems with the signal an awful lot recently. We have 2 Sky boxes. When I rang to get help, they said that it must be the satellite dish seeing as it's a prob on both TVs. They said it'd be €100 for an engineer's visit, or I can get a private engineer. Anyone have any idea how much that'd cost, or have any details for engineers in Galway?

    €80 for an engineer

Call their bluff. Ask to be put thru to the cancellations department, when they ask why you want to cancel explain that your system is not working and you can not afford the engineer visit. They will put you on hold and then hey presto, free engineer visit.

This worked for me, but even after replacing the dish and the box and turning off every electronic device in the house I still have the 'no signal received' issue intermitently. Rebooting the skybox sorts it sometimes, but I reckon- in my case - it must be the external cable at this stage.

    had the same problem myself

I just gave the LNB and slight tap and it all came back online
