Upgrading DPM pattern/loadout style

PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING VOTE

Hey folks,
Heres my dilemma...

At the moment my DPM loadout consists of the old brit 95 pattern with an OD tac vest, this is all well and gud but lately i've been leaning towards changing my DPM for Multicam pattern stuff... I don't have a pic handy of my current loadout but i'm sure you get the general idea.

The thing is, theres also this rig that i'd like to get but comes in a variety or colours, black OD or multicam and i dunno which to get it in, if I got it in OD or black it would matchok with my current loadout of brit soldier 95, to be honest i'd prefer to get it in OD than black I think... but if i got it in multicam i'd have to go all out and change my pattern as I don't think it'd match the brit soldier 95.

Also I'm starting to think multicam is a bit too bright for me if i was to play any indoor games, the old 95 pattern looks darker to me...

opinions people?

You kind of answered it yourself. Get the OD, you're bound to change loadouts down the line, and the OD will most likely blend with them all.

Though it all depends on whether you want to look good, or you want to be camouflaged (or both?).

PS: You'll prob get stick here for switching from brit to multicam :pac:

Where do you play? Multicam is good for open fields/grassland, whereas it is not so fantastic in wooded areas.

Personally speaking, I do not like specific pattern tac vests...but I'm strange in what I use. The main vest I use is a CB/Tan CIRAS (it's like halfway between brown and tan), combined with some OD green pouches. I like the combination as it breaks the solid colour of the Tan/CB, and I've found it works. Not for everyone's tastes mind you

Like Inari said Multicam is better suited to wide open areas with less shade and slightly brighter vegetation/flora.

For woodland something like MARPAT or CADPAT might work better. They're both a bit more modern. They are digital camoflagues so they are pixelated like ACU but they are darker,more woodland compatible colours (brown,black,green,etc.).

Hey Inari, yea i'd be more of a woodland, try and keep hidden in the shade kinda player so as CpcRc said maybe a different pattern would suit me better as opposed to getting mulitcam, was actually thinking of goin MARPAT for a while but never did, whats CADPAT look like?

Hang on, i'll google it...

Hmmm, thats the Canadian pattern isn't it, dunno MARPAT is nearly better

Simples:D get the OD it goes with everything. I currently have 2 loadouts multi-cam and Swedish M90 and I use an OD tacvest for both. It blends well with the M90 and it also helps to darken the Multi-cam;).

I've now copme to another dilemma... for me personally MARPAT has too much coyote colour in it and CADPAT is too green... theres no pleasing me... unless i went out and wore my Irish DPMs but then i'd be screwed! Haha! Oh yea and the vest i wanted you can't get in OD apparently, only black or multicam, so it looks like i'm goin on the hunt... AGAIN

We live in a country that is famous for being green and it is green most of the year around. Think of practicality and comfort. I think your question has been answered several times over but just make sure you keep those two words in mind when getting kit

Got myself some MARPAT and I love it.Goes great with dark trees and bushes and works well in shadows

Yeah I understand ya. Neither of them are perfect in my opinion for the same reasons you've mentioned but I'm leaning towards maybe buying the CADPAT sometime as I feel that it's better overall. I want better woodland camo but I prefer modern camo.

But I have played against people in MARPAT and in woodland areas with good shade it works quite well because the coyote appears more natural in darker places.

Marpat works amazingly well, and Cadpat is somehow even better... they may look funny, but work extremely well. Another option is the Italian vegitatta, a combination of the two.

Thats the Swedish or German pattern? Either way, don't like it...

I like MARPAT alrite but it looks very coyote/brown is you get me, just wonder how gud it would be in shade, the brit 95 works well i feel cos of the black in it already and the brown geiving it that dark look, that Italian vegitatta is even worse IMO, don't like the look of it at all. Then theres the CADPAT but thats just different shades of green...

I'd kinda like a pattern that I like the look of but is also kinda functional if you get me... has to work well in low light, woodland but also be dark enuf not to shilouette in low light/indoor situations...

That Italian camo is pretty sweet, I must say. I don't normally like small pattern as I call it, prefer the old large blocks of colour. At least it's not did though, can't stand it. Anyways, I would recommend you avoid black unless you plan on playing CQB or Urban where there's little hope of camo-ing. I've seen guys wearing multicam in woodland and it worked quite well, however a floating black tac-vest gives it away pretty quickly. I went OD, works with anything. In terms of BDUs (or whatever the correct term is) get something you like. Simples.

I voted to stick with what you have, I doubt you will find a more effective or practical loadout for Irish sites. If you want to have a look at other patterns I've always found this site useful: http://www.kamouflage.net/global.php
