96 Mitsubishi pajero 2.8 AUTO turbo change confusion?

Hi all im just posting this for a friend.

Basically the turbo went in the jeep not so long ago and now hes getting around to fixing it. His old turbo was water cooled and the one he has now is just a normal one. Its suppose to be ok to use the normal turbo and just plug up the holes for the old turbo (could be totally wrong!). this is where we are confused :P there is two pipes and we dont know what to connect them to! there is one pipe one the lower half of the turbo itself and just a bit lower and too the right on another unit there is also a pipe. Any ideas where they connect too?
