I'm about to paint all the red deal doors, skirting etc in my house and wondering which satinwood paint is the best?

I have used Berger, Dulux and Johnstones recently

    Looking for recommendations please.

colortrend do a waterbased one thats very good

I also find Leyland satin to be top notch

I'm not fussy whether it is oil based or water based I just want to be able to wash it down if it gets dirty, it needs to wear well as it will be used in the kitchen etc.

Where would I get Leyland paint??

If it's for a kitchen etc, personally I head down the oil based route. Have heard that flash/floor cleaners etc can react with waterbased and effect the finish. If you do go waterbasd F&B and Sikkens seam to be miles ahead of the rest.

My preference is for oil, and would recommend Little Green's eggshell.

A decent primer/undercoat will also be required. Don't cheap out on this end, as it's pretty important. Good luck with it.

Really liking Johnstones stuff again after years of it being terrible. Definitely go oil if you can...can't tell you how much I detest waterborne; too shiny, shows all brush strokes, dries to non smooth surface (compared to oil) and general looks like plastic (which it is ;) ); the only hting it has going for it is drying times.
The Littlegreene paint co. eggshell is superb in terms of coverage and finish but it's pricey.
Best of all was the F&B estate oil eggshell, but since they switched to water based they can keep it.
Don't know what I'll do when the oil paint is phased out, especially for shiny front doors...
