Ciaran's Bar in Francis Street is a great spot for Trad.

"The Town Hall" in O'Connell Street is a lovely place to eat :)

I agree with the Town Hall, but it is expensive. If you are going to eat before 8pm try Yolos for bar food. Cheapest in town!! Mains approx €6.95

Poets Corner for main around €11.

Best early bird i reckon is Cocos. 3 courses €16.95

+1 for sessions in ciarans and sometimes criuses bar has trad... +1 for trad in poets corner and across the road, fawls is a 'little old mans pub' and some great sessions on in there...
+1 for the town hall, its my favourite place to eat, ive never had a bad meal there.. but for more reasonably priced the rowentree is good..
    have fun!

I'd second the rowantree for something to eat mainly pizzas & pasta but very good walk over during the day & check out the menu then make a reservation, yolos great if you're eating early they're both close to ciarans for the trad music too

The Rowan Tree is very good and it's just across the road from Ciaran's and Cruise's.

I like Seasons 52 also, it's on Parnell st.

Hire a car for the day would be best. Try Liam Cleary on the Kilrush Road

Taxi would be about €60. You should have no problem doing a deal with one of them though. They are looking for buisness now as there are too many of them there.

Best pubs for trad would be: Ciaran's, Cruises, Fawl's (on Fridays), The Old Ground, O'Halloran's, Mickey Kerin's.

Best restaurants are The Town Hall and The Rowan Tree by a head and shoulders. There's a few adequate ones such as Knox's and Season 52. Bit of advice: stop off in Vaughan's Anchor Inn in Liscannor on the way home from the Cliffs of Moher for a top quality meal. As good as any restaurant in the county.
