Does The Sopranos Spoil anything from The Godfather Movies or other Gangster Movies

HI I Got the Sopranos DVD Set the other Day.

I Just Watched Episode 10 and a Character Said Something about Goodfellas and i was Just wondering if in the Series do they Spoil anything from Gangster Movies.

They talk about them alot so i was just wondering cause i have'int seen any of The Godfathers or Goodfellas cause i Would like to.

Theres a few references here an there, but nothing that would spoil any of the films, wish I was watching the Sopranos for the first time again, best show ever!

If I were you I would stop watching Sopranos altogether and watch those gangster movies. When you understand the context you appreciate the references and little injokes all the more. Especially the stuff with Silvio.

Anyway, they definately spoil at least one scene from Godfather.

Luca Brase (sp?p sleeps with the fishes. And while not a spoiler Chrisopher's scene with the guy at the meat counter in season 1 was shot so as to alllude to Michael Imperio's character meeting a similar fate in Goodfellas

I'm 90% sure you've already watched it. It's an early one. TBH If you're not familiar with the movie it might just go over your head anyway.
