WD Passport drives - which USB cable?? Help please

Hi All,
I have a couple of Western Digital passport drives and I want to get a spare USB A-B cable or 2 for them. I bought one that doesn't work (light comes on, but the drive does not appear in windows).
So before I attempt to buy another, can someone tell me what I need to look for?

I was told that the cable needs to be below a certain length. Is this correct? Are there any other characteristics?
Would like to find one on ebay ideally. Any help or links?

First I've heard about cable length, thought it didn't matter.

Are you positive the drive works ok? When did it\they last work?

Drive works perfectly.
I have the original cable and too and that works fine. I used it yesterday.

Here's the cable I bought that didn't work... I assume there's something wrong with the one I picked??
