    Do falcon check travel insurance?

They say you must buy theirs or have your own.
I'm happy to take my chances.
    Seems like a money-making racket.
Just want to know if they ask to see documents
or has anyone had to prove travel insurance policy.

Can they cancel our holiday or stop us boarding!?

    Thanks a mill!

No you don't have to prove if you have travel insurance, it's better to have it than not but it's your choice.

for the sake of 10euro singletrip for an adult or about 25 for a family of 2adults and 3 children for a week, i think its worth it, thats my opinion anyway, rather be safe than sorry

It's only a racket until you need a medical evacuation (€7,000 minimum for a flight of less than 2 hours, much higher if patient is critically ill) or end up in a hospital after an accident towards the end of your holiday. The tour operator is not obliged to provide accommodation or alternative flights if you're not able to return.

For the sake of a few quid, you'd be insane not to take insurance.

You are foolish if you travel abroad without insurance.

I have always had an annual multitrip policy.

Never used it in five years.

    BUT

Two weeks ago, larking in the pool in Tenerife with my 8 year old, got a twinge in my shoulder.

Within two days I couldnt take the pain. Went to local doctor, no use, two days later again, went to A and E.

    "Do you have insurance?"
    "VHI multitrip"
    "Thats fine"

Doctor, two xrays, injection for pain, doctor, prescripton, out the door.

One hour, fourty five minutes. €145 bill to VHI.

That was for suspected torn ligaments.

Imagine if I had of needed an airlift home?

Wouldnt dream of not having insurance. Got mine this time round with VHI for the family, multitrip worldwide as a current customer, €69.

    Do the maths.....

    I

    Another thing.

Did you ever watch airport on BBC1? The goings on at Heathrow.

One episode followed an insurance company nurse who flew to swizerland (spelling?) to bring back a skier.

An experienced skier, he flew over and on his first day on piste, he got hit by an out of control novice. Broken leg.

Nurse flies out, organises transfers, six seats to be flattened on a plane home to take his stretcher, ambulance transfers to and from airport and general care.

The bill was THOUSANDS, and it was picked up by the insurance company nurse. The poor fecker cried when he reached his local hospital at home.

Imagine if he was uninsured !

We have been asked by travel agents for copies of our insurance before tickets will be issued. Travel insurance is less than 20 euro for a week! Get it!

Annual policy for 2 adults and 2 kids is only €90 for us. Great value.

If you are not going to get travel insurence at least have your E111. That will cover your basic medical charges. I'v booked a short break to Amsterdam for next month. Tickets will not be issued until we produce insurence.

Thank you for answering my question :)
Rest of you thanks for advice and lectures I feel like
a naughty schoolkid! To be honest I have travelled lots
already and insurance never covered anything that did happen
so I'm happy to take my chances this time and if I do need a medical
evacuation then I'll happily hand over all my savings as I was clearly wrong :D
