Japanese punk always have the best lyrics. Can remember the band but the lyric was

'My disgracefull behaviour will bring dishonour on your family'

"I wanna be a billionaire so f**kin' bad."

It's such a bald statement with no imagination to it, and such a horrible sentiment as well.
I wouldn't have believed a few years ago that it could be the chorus of a hit song.

No fans of Progressive Rock here? There are some doozies in there:

Close To The Edge by Yes:
A seasoned witch could call you from the depths of your disgrace,
And rearrange your liver to the solid mental grace,
And achieve it all with music that came quickly from afar,
Then taste the fruit of man recorded losing all against the hour.
And assessing points to nowhere, leading ev'ry single one.
A dewdrop can exalt us like the music of the sun,
And take away the plain in which we move,
And choose the course you're running.
21st Century Schizoid Man by King Crimson:
    Cat's Foot, Iron Claw,
    Neurosurgeons scream for more,
    At paranoia's poison door,
    21st Century Schizoid Man
That song was sampled by Jay-Z Kanye West last year for Power - which is just as mad:
What do it mean to be the boss?
It mean second place is the first one who lost
The crucifixion, the being nailed to the cross
Truth or fiction, it’s a hell of a cost, do the dishes
I’m ’bout to hit that Jeff Gordon
Michael Jordan, the only one more important
But I be feelin’ like Jordan when I’m recordin’
‘Cause every time I record, I duck to slap the boards
I don’t know what these rappers gon’ do afterwards
Prolly spaz like I might do at the awards
Huh, I got the whole crowd goin’ crazy
    Homie, I should be rewarded
Gettin’ money Yeezy, Yeezy, how you do it, huh?
Eatin’ Wheaties, drinkin’ Fiji, bein’ greedy, huh?

Government resting upon the will and universal suffrage of the people has no anchorage except in the people's intelligence.

    — Grover Cleveland

Who could forget this pile of Blx Lyrics by Donna Summer

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
    Oh, no!

    Oh No is right !:(

Are we human, or are we dancer?

Human by The Killers, the most retarded lyric i have ever heard.

Its a deep and meaningful lyric, you just need to analise it :pac:

I'm really torn because MacArthur Park is one of my all-time top 10 favourites but the lyrics!

"Spring was never waiting for us girl, but ran one step ahead
as we followed in the dance,
Between the parted pages and were pressed, with love's hot fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants"

    or something like that.

To this day, the stupidest lyric I ever heard

The lyric makes more sense when you discover it was pinched from a song called 'Wanna Drop A House (On That Bitch)' by Urban Discharge.

    "Just like old Saxophone Joe
When he's got the hogshead up on his toe
    Oh me, oh my
    Love that country pie.

    Listen to the fiddler play
When he's playin' 'til the break of day
    Oh me, oh my
    Love that country pie.

    Rasberry, strawberry, lemon and lime
    What do I care ?
Blueberry, apple, cherry, pumpkin and plum
Call me for dinner, honey, I'll be there.

Saddle me up on my big white goose
Tie me on 'er turn her loose
    Oh me, oh my
    Love that country pie.

I don't need much and that ain't no lie
    Ain't runnin' any race
Give to me my country pie
I won't throw it up in anybody's face.

Shake me up that old peach tree
Little Jack Horner's got nothin' on me
    Oh me, oh my
    Love that country pie"

Even the great bob dylan couldn't make a song about pie interesting

'Back to black' is a reference to depression, as far as I can gather from listening to the song. She's fallen back into depression is what she means. It's a nice lyric.

'Smells like Teen Spirit' is something to do with deodorant, like someone already said.

One I don't get is, 'slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball' from Oasis. I don't like Oasis anyway, and their stupid *ss lyrics are probably the main reason.

Professional Widow by Tori Anus. Ketamine addled gibberish masquerading as 'profound'.

Apparently that song is about Courtney Love, which if true is a pretty good way to describe her. She's been sponging off her unfortunate husband's image and money since the day he died. If anyone is the epitome of a professional widow, it's her. The rest of the lyrics are nonsensical though, yes.

And I've no idea what it has to do with this guy...

If these lyrics made sense to you, you would be in trouble. They are the product ramblings borne of LSD...;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,528 ✭✭✭foxyboxer

Cause I may be bad / But I'm perfectly good at it / Sex in the air / I don't care / I love the smell of it / Sticks and stones / May break my bones / But chains and whips excite me.

****e song admittedly and fairly self explanatory but the idea of teeny boppers singing along to this tripe is cringeworthy and disturbing.

That's why I love when people try to explain it, like this guy.

Here's a little quote I like from another website:
I still uphold the theory about death symbolism. Not only was the walrus the socialist symbol, the walrus was also a symbol of death to ancient Celts. (I don't know why but then again, why not?) Also, any close followers of the conspiracy plot would realize that John had extensive knowledge on ancient death symbols.

PS I personally don't believe Paul ever took LSD as much as othe others, because none of his own songs were warped. They were all sort of loving, if you know what I mean.

It apparently was a symbol of death for some Arctic tribes, but I haven't seen many walruses round these parts!
