I know this car is a bit of a Boards.ie fave and there are probably loads of threads on it but can any owners tell me what kinda mpg I can expect on mix of motorway and fast country roads with very little urban /town driving?Would I need to budget for things like 'coil packs' (how much are these ?Easy to DIY fit?)Thanks.

I owned one for over 2 years, around 30mpg,well specced and very practical but it was an absolute ball of ****.

Any more questions, don't hesitate to ask

This constant mpg stuff is nonsense.

Budget €0.80/€1 per mile in overall running costs and you'll be closer to reality. That'll include tyres, servicing, and fixed running costs.

Not exactly a fanboy but I would have a soft spot for VAG cars. Sayin that the problems ive seen lately on here and on my mates VAG's would turn you off ever buying one... Thats mostly diesels though

    +1

Not a fan. Drove a Fabia with a fair few issues. Drove a Passat for about 8 years from new and my bank balance has the scars to show it. Cars were both well taken care of and never returned the sentiment.
