I think the government should scrap slave labour schemes like Fás/Solas Work Placement Programmes/National Internship Scheme and actually do something about trying to create jobs that actually provide people with an actual salary and career prospects instead of expecting them to work for free.

They are getting the dole, it's not working for free, it's working for a CV. Besides, most people on the dole will probably be happy with the situation as it gives them something to do.

Ireland should stop pretending its neutral. Either pick a side or invest some cash into securing our neutrality like Sweden and Switzerland have. If they are in trouble they realise that because they are neutral they'll have to sort it out themselves. First thing Ireland would do would be to call up USA/UK.

Continued funding and putting resources into the Irish language is a waste.

Apocalypse Now is a crap movie (apart from the helicopter/ride of valkyrie scene, which is only about 15 mintues).

They are expected to work around 39 hours per week for their dole in companies that more then likely can well afford to pay them the minimum wage at the very least but instead decide to let the government foot the bill to get a free slave for 6 to 9 months!

People who make a point of buying English papers (here in Ireland) are, 99% of the time, pretentious dickheads.
It's a sad state of affairs, that you'll find horoscopes in the majority of papers. It would make just as much sense to include a bit on how today's weather will affect the fairies living in your garden.
I'm a big scifi nerd but that movie Moon is terrible. I'd have to paid to watch it again.
