Short of a head/knife/gun wound people who turn up in casualty because they've been involved in a fight/other types of public disorder (especially if they're still drunk), should be treated after everybody else.

I want the Irish government to take Sarkozy's approach to Roma immigrants.

That a significant portion of this country are happier ignorant than informed.

They prefer a black-and-white view where there is a group of 'bad people' and a group of 'good people' and everyone who disagrees is an apologist.

Given the choice of a non national taxi driver and an Irish one I'll choose the latter purely cos an Irish one is more inclined to have the banter

95% of the men in this country are not good looking (to me).

I just realised I assume that gay women have a look about them. see gay thread.

I'd have more respect for animals than humans most of the time.

Bring back the death penalty for certain crime.

We're still a largely passive and deferential society.

Horsemeat is nice and no more morally objectionable than any other type of meat.

Drinking a lot regularly is a bit sad.

I don't like the taste of beer.

Thats funny because i will look on most humans as animals with the way they act but i would still have more respect for the animals most of the time.

Drugs and prostitution should be legalised.

People who arent from Ireland should not be allowed on the social welfare.

That if it wasn't for the much maligned "PC, do-gooder" brigade, a lot of people in this country and others would be a lot worse off, with far fewer rights.

Also that anyone who uses "do-gooder" as if it's a bad thing, is an idiot.

I admire the likes of Michael O' Leary and Bill Cullen.
I hate people who put animals before humans generally.
Alcohol should be banned. I hate being called an alcoholic because I don't drink.

That's generally accepted tho. GAA for the most part consists of a bunch of thick toothless yokels wildly running around after the ball like Rocky and the chicken.

    Bring back the death penalty
    Abolish the WPS programme

    Free health care for all
    Remove all luxuries from prisons
    open borders

I could go on and on but I won't

Ireland's drinking culture is what's killing it; we're too obsessed with being out every night of the week and not being able to remember it the morning after than we are about working hard and earning success.

    * We should have points system for letting people into the country (like Canada, America, Australia, etc).
    * Some prisons are too easy, nearly unofficial breakaway-holiday camps!
    * Semi-contact Karate should be an Olympic sport!
    * Life should mean LIFE in prison!

I agree but where is the shortfall in revenue going to be made up.
If we banned smoking completely which will never happen btw
the government coffers are going to be a few billion short.

i think it could balance out, they know themselves they are losing a fortune in smuggling due to the price difference, but of course no one wants to say they want to reduce it or say its an addiction they tax on so they might as well legalise cannabis in that stance.

24 hour news, internet information has made us all geniuses but with little depth of any particular subject.
Also almost all 99.5% media is cleverly constructed bull**** to keep us fighting between ourselves and make us forget about how much we ALL have in common.

we've become more spectators than participants in our own lives.

Unless you have a health problem, You don't have a problem! AT ALL.

First one I agreed with though.

Or maybe you were exaggerating the final point?

Alcohol does far more damage in Ireland then many illegal drugs.
Ok you'll say my opinion means nothing as it's so widespread with every village having a pub

But after seeing the fury Joe Duffy managed to whip up, nothing will ever change about legalization of certain drugs while our drink culture continues

Even if they're safer than cars, wearing a seatbelt on a coach is not uncool or a nuisance, and is in fact a good idea.

I travel regularly by bus and never understand why almost no-one wears their seatbelt when they'd never consider not wearing it in a car.

Pat Kenny is the most talented person in RTÉ and his radio show and the Frontline are very good
Ok, he doesn't deserve his obscene salary or even half of it but he deserves to be the highest paid person in RTÉ

Nursing used to be a vocation and wards were tightly managed by nuns and matrons.
Now nursing is a degree subject, graduate salaries are expected and lots of workers want to be the manager with the clipboard while others do the real work
Was it realy worse in the old days?
Why is nursing a degree subject and we have care assistants doing other work?
Will it ever go back to a vocational job, not as well paid but then the nurses are not asked to take on extra responsibility

People with gender identity issues are mentally ill.

Gay people shouldn't marry in a catholic church.

Most drugs should be controlled and legalised.

There should be very serious sentences for repeat offenders.

The driving test should be more difficult and you should have to retake the test every 10 years.

Obese people should have to pay for healthcare.

The requirements for entering the guards should be more demanding and all guards 'on the beat' should undergo continuous fitness testing.

Kilkenny and Tipp should have their own mini all ireland

Have you something to tell us?

lol no,but the 06 law for some odd reason cannot find an girl under 17 guilty of having sex whilst the bloke who could be underage will get the book thrown at him.

in the states both are guilty parties.
