Certain recreational drugs should be legalised.

    Bring back the death penalty
    Abolish the WPS programme

    Free health care for all
    Remove all luxuries from prisons
    open borders

I could go on and on but I won't

Ireland's drinking culture is what's killing it; we're too obsessed with being out every night of the week and not being able to remember it the morning after than we are about working hard and earning success.

    * We should have points system for letting people into the country (like Canada, America, Australia, etc).
    * Some prisons are too easy, nearly unofficial breakaway-holiday camps!
    * Semi-contact Karate should be an Olympic sport!
    * Life should mean LIFE in prison!

I agree but where is the shortfall in revenue going to be made up.
If we banned smoking completely which will never happen btw
the government coffers are going to be a few billion short.

I hate, with a passion, people like the above.

because of the three things i said?

    or just one?

i think it could balance out, they know themselves they are losing a fortune in smuggling due to the price difference, but of course no one wants to say they want to reduce it or say its an addiction they tax on so they might as well legalise cannabis in that stance.

24 hour news, internet information has made us all geniuses but with little depth of any particular subject.
Also almost all 99.5% media is cleverly constructed bull**** to keep us fighting between ourselves and make us forget about how much we ALL have in common.

we've become more spectators than participants in our own lives.

Unless you have a health problem, You don't have a problem! AT ALL.
    Its all in your head.

I agreed with his post on account of your last two points.

First one I agreed with though.

Or maybe you were exaggerating the final point?

Alcohol does far more damage in Ireland then many illegal drugs.
Ok you'll say my opinion means nothing as it's so widespread with every village having a pub

But after seeing the fury Joe Duffy managed to whip up, nothing will ever change about legalization of certain drugs while our drink culture continues

Going from the opinions expressed in this thread, the rise of the far right in Ireland may not be that far away.

Even if they're safer than cars, wearing a seatbelt on a coach is not uncool or a nuisance, and is in fact a good idea.

I travel regularly by bus and never understand why almost no-one wears their seatbelt when they'd never consider not wearing it in a car.

Make under age girls guilty as well in engagement of underage sex

    Scrap croke park agreement

Pat Kenny is the most talented person in RTÉ and his radio show and the Frontline are very good
Ok, he doesn't deserve his obscene salary or even half of it but he deserves to be the highest paid person in RTÉ

Nursing used to be a vocation and wards were tightly managed by nuns and matrons.
Now nursing is a degree subject, graduate salaries are expected and lots of workers want to be the manager with the clipboard while others do the real work
Was it realy worse in the old days?
Why is nursing a degree subject and we have care assistants doing other work?
Will it ever go back to a vocational job, not as well paid but then the nurses are not asked to take on extra responsibility

People with gender identity issues are mentally ill.

Gay people shouldn't marry in a catholic church.

Most drugs should be controlled and legalised.

There should be very serious sentences for repeat offenders.

The driving test should be more difficult and you should have to retake the test every 10 years.

Obese people should have to pay for healthcare.

The requirements for entering the guards should be more demanding and all guards 'on the beat' should undergo continuous fitness testing.

Kilkenny and Tipp should have their own mini all ireland

Have you something to tell us?

lol no,but the 06 law for some odd reason cannot find an girl under 17 guilty of having sex whilst the bloke who could be underage will get the book thrown at him.

in the states both are guilty parties.

There is something seriously gone horribly wrong in the brains of religious people.

Not everyone should be allowed vote in elections.

Ireland should bring in a two child only policy.

    Abortion should be legal.

You should have to do an exam to prove you are not a gombeen in order to vote.

The catholic church should refuse al a carte Catholics thus people will wake up and realise they are not catholic after all.

Religion should be completely separate from the state.

I'd agree with you but would say Sean O Rourke is under rated at Lunch Time on Radio 1. I never know what side he's on.

Also... Norris. I thought he was the most interesting candidate and would vote for him after Michael. D BUT, he should resign from office after that Israeli business.

If the church did it we'd be rightly livid, unfortunately the populist Irish Meida largely overlooked this.

When you take a life you have to give life to be redeemed.

All murders should have their healthy organs tagged, when a transplant is needed, the convicts time is up.

    Works a treat in China.

It's pointless railing against religion (in terms of belief, not of course complaining about abuse and such carried out by institutions) as most religious people won't be convinced by your arguments, and something else would replace it instead.

Too many people need a system to explain the world or a promise of immortality or mystery and wonder, or hold sincere religious beliefs for their own reasons for religion in some form or other to ever really disappear.

    Live and let live.

Bail should only be refused when there is a very high probability of the accused fleeing the country.
