Thats the version I listen too. Love to turn up the bass for the start.

Personally I prefer Freebird or Wish You Were Here over the 2 choices but if forced to chose would be HC everytime

So this thread has probably run it's course.

I started it because of a drunken moment of clarity, I remembered my brother playing this over and over again on the Top of the Tops album 1976. It featured some really good stuff, but I used to hate Hotel California because of his insistence to "play it loud". On a record player. (Whatever that is, for those under 30

) Not long after, I heard Stairway, and thought it was incredible . I can't say what it was that turned me around, but to me, now, Hotel California is just unbeatable.

For the record, the brothers' favorite is a day in the life. He's sick. Or maybe I've caused even more trouble
