cost of car rear windscreen replacement

    some drunken cu*t is after putting a bottle of smirnoff ice through the rear windscreen of my nissan almera an hour ago, would anybody have any idea of cost of replacement? thanks a lot

    Check to see if you have Glass Cover on your Insurance as rear windows can be pretty expensive.

    scrapyard should have a perfectly good rear screen, they can be removed much easier than a front ,and if done properly will not break as it is tempered glass. If its a saloon there are two different back windows one with a wiper hole and one without. €70 -€80 should cover glass and removal. €50 to €60 for refitting. Most windscreen shops will fit it for you even if you supply the glass.New screen could be € 250 upwards.

    Thanks a lot for that, appreciate the info. I ended up getting autoglass out to do the job because I needed the car for work pronto, 170 for a new rear windscreen, fitted. Needless to say, windscreen cover is now part of my insurance.
