Circuit breaker will not reset, just shows red

So....I wanted to change the air filter for the first time, and the instructions said to turn off the AC first. I turned it off at the breaker and replaced the filter, but when I flipped the switch back to "on" it went red. You need to press the switch down firmly to reset it. You will normally hear a click then you will be able to switch it back on.
