Course between Mullingar and Carrick-on-Shannon

    Has anybody got any recommendations for a golf course between Mullingar and Carrick-on-Shannon (on or just off N4) or a couple of 4 balls? What is Co. Longford Golf Club or Carrick-on-Shannon Golf Club like for instance?

    played carrick on shannon loads of times a few years ago.
    while the 'old nine' is plain enough, some of the newer outer holes are hidden gems, around the banks of the lake.
    I believe Longford is nice, Mullingar is old school parkland, bit overrated. IMO. but dont eat there.
