I meant for personal opinion. in the grander scheme of things, regardless of facts, this is death to the campaign, yes. I'm just keeping an open mind myself as to my opinion of the man, until I have more facts.

I could launch into conjecture and speculation at this point, but I'm not going to launch into a blind defence. I will weigh it up on facts, others are free to weigh it up how they wish, such is democracy.
Well do you think my bias is worse than yours then because i don't. You have shown your colours on this from the start and can't seem to take any criticism of D.N. at all. But go on and laugh at others and accuse them of telling lies. Where are the lies i told by the way ?

one example lie. I'm not going back through all your posts.

Very unfair comments. I never said "fact" anywhere either. Anything i did say was an honest comment but you want to twist everything to support your side. If i said some moderators were better than others too it might be "fact".

I never said you said fact anywhere. I said that people down the line are getting second and third hand information from posts like yours and through chinese whispers are getting confused and thinking its fact. we've seen this time and time again when people arrived into the thread.

"can't seem" is a personal opinion. Personal opinions are not lies. So its not an example at all.

If it was consensual, theres no difference. the biology of the act makes no difference. Plenty of straight couples have anal sex regularily.
I didnt actually think you would as far as to say something like that. Very sad.

Back to what we're meant to be talking about. Norris has lost three members of the Oireachtas so far in the past hour, McGrath, Halligan and Pringle. How many more will go before midnight? Crown is tweeting that he will stand by his man.

He is gone big time and I for one am glad, maybe mr.norris will think next time before he associates with people who exploit children.

This is another problem I have with this issue. People claiming to care about child abuse all of a sudden, when I get the impression many of them couldn't give a toss about it and just personally dislike Norris and his campness.

that account was over the top support of norris yesterday, insinuating the older gay males help "guide" the young guys. I suspect a troll.

I think at this point he needs to consider his position as a senator, let alone as a presidential candidate.

Oh yeh? Well Norris has just found out that the Irish are no longer ambivalent to 'perpetrators of' and 'apologists for' child abuse. Let his imminent resignation from the campaign be a lesson. Sling yer hook and good riddance.

Well you would be wrong, my opinions are not based in the least on your very narrow assumptions. I am sure I am not the only one either.

What sort of tone is that? Did you dislike Norris before this came out?

Some people couldn't give a toss about child sexual abuse, perhaps not all of course. But I do sense them using this as an excuse to complain about Norris, when really his gayness irritates them.

David Norris withdraws from presenting spot on TV3′s Vincent Browne show

DAVID NORRIS HAS withdrawn from a guest spot on TV3′s Tonight with Vincent Brown show.

Norris was due to present the show tomorrow night. A TV3 spokesperson has confirmed to TheJournal.ie that he has withdrawn.

    The spokesperson said:

While we are disappointed we are not surprised due to the controversy surrounding the campaign.
The spokesperson also said that a member of the senator’s presidential campaign informed TV3 today that due to the circumstances they did not feel it would be appropriate for him to go ahead with the guest presenting slot.

Several of David Norris’ campaign staff resigned over the weekend after it emerged that he wrote a letter, using Senate headed paper, seeking clemency for his friend and former partner Ezra Yizhak Nawi who was convicted of the statutory rape of a 15-year-old boy in the Israeli courts in 1997.

Independent TD Mick Wallace confirmed earlier that he is still supporting Norris’ campaign, reports RTÉ. Five of the 15 Oireachtas members who pledged their support have confirmed that they are still on board. Others are considering the matter while some remain uncontactable.

The issue of child sex abuse has been part of the Irish agenda for at least ten years, did you not know that ? Just heard about it lately ?

Some people couldn't give a toss about child sexual abuse,

The ones that matter do! As DN has realised.

The desperation to see this man elected is amazing. He is egotistical, opinionated, out of touch with the ordinary person and desperate for the office of president.
I stopped supporting him, when early in his campaign he said, 'that he would not have a partner if he was elected', a deliberate and cynical attempt to appeal to conservative Ireland and turning his back on all that has been achieved for Gay rights. Self aggrandising, I think is the word.
He has no qualities that the Presidency requires.

Be careful when you leap to those conclusions, you often find there is nowhere to land after the leap

I actually agree with you on that regarding playing for the conservative vote, turning back on some of his beliefs lately or downplaying them. He's made sure to be vocal about his love of the GAA as well. Aw well, all politicians engage in this type of crap.

    It's called an opinion.

You can safely say his gayness didn't bother some people?
