Where can you find statistics on how many priests, monks and nuns there are in Ireland?
And how many convents and monasterys are currently open with religious congregation that live and work in them?

There is a book about this by John Weafer based on a survey he did.

The Catholic Ireland site lists all the orders as do all the diocesan sites also. Most of the diocesan sites will give numbers so this is an accurate way of keeping track.

My work as a monastic historian keeps me updating.

This is the only way to keep an accurate picture of a dying life. Almost none of the orders are renewing; average age is 78 and rising all the time.

Some small renewal of one male order in Cork as men are wary of the dioceses in these times.

There was a statistical summary on the Irish Episcopal site a few years back but it is way out oif date now.
