anyone got a good link or idea for how to change the stereo in a ford focus - basically I want one that I can connect a MP3 player to via 3.5 mm jack.

    Thanks.

Your question is a bit vague - are you looking for where you can buy one or how you can fit one? Most motor factors will sell you a stereo these days which will accept an MP3 player- the question is really whether your vehicle will accept an after market stereo - e.g the shape could be different. Ford themselves most likely do a stereo head unit that can be fitted to your car with the MP3 facility - once you can find out the stereo model number you could try any of the well known online selling facilities to try and get a second hand one, as new they could be mad money.

My old 05 focus needed 4 little keys that slip in just at the 4 corners of the head unit and you just pop it out. I got a double din, touchscreen, bluetooth, gps thingy off eBay- it worked out great.

only thing is, the steering controls didn't work with it

    What year is your Focus?
The laters ones have AUX capabilities, just need to buy a cable from Ford and wire it in, 5 minutes.
    Picture of Stereo?

Fitted a jvc stereo in 2005 focus this week, needed the removal tool to take out old radio. http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_210981_langId_-1_categoryId_212460

Then fit facia adapter and cage for new radio. Bend tabs on cage to hold it in place

Used connect2 stalk adapter for focus so steering wheel controls still work

slide radio into place and hold with four screws

clip inner facia around radio to cover screws

+ Although I wouldnt purchase the facia or the adaptors from halfords as they are extremely expensive.

I must install a JVC to a Mini one (im waiting on delivery for the parts) from an online shop.
    - The BMW (round pin) to ISO adaptor was 20euro,
    - Autoleads facia adaptor (20) and
    - Aerial adaptor fakra to DIN (didnt see it stocked when I was there)

Granted the facia wont be an autoleads item but the above kit was 15euro delivered from the online seller.

Yeah, wouldnt recommend halfords either was just linking to show the pictures

I actually got the radio with all the parts to fit from somebody who had the radio installed in their own focus so made it very straight forward
