PS3 Keeps Freezing

    Hi all,

    The last two days while playing my PS3 (only Black ops) my PS3 will just freeze. No YLOD just freezes and the only way I can turn it off is to use the switch.

    Anyone got any ideas as to what's happening or solutions? It's only when I play online in Black Ops, it will get to the map screen and just freeze. I restored default settings but that didn't work.:confused::confused:

    Is the hard drive almost full? I found that happened when I downloaded my two free games, had 20mb left and the playstation just crashed every few minutes.

    No there's plenty of room on the hard drive (12GB) I deleted the free games after I completed them. I've found it to just be with Black Ops, other games work online and don't freeze

    Well I would say that if it only happening on one game that their is a strong likelihood that the disc could be damaged. Have you checked it for scratches or dents?

    Cleaned the disc, got it working in the end. Had to format the hard disk :(:( Lost everything but it works again.

    Hi lads,
    Over past few days got two broken PS3 consoles, one 80GB and the other 60GB. The Blu-ray drive will not read discs in both. Network is working fine as well as PSN and store. The thing is any game or application will download and install fine but when I try to launch it freezes on the black screen just after it displays the resolution settings?? HDD flickers for a few seconds initially and then nothing?? The same thing happens both PS3's??

    Tried using composite cable and done full format on both but no joy. Any ideas? This happened to anyone else before?
