just bought the new Humble Indie Bundle...downloading the games now, but some of them look good, love the "pay what you want" structure

It's hard to complain when you pay so little, but I really think that the last 2 bundles have not been as good as the original.

i only got the Frozenbyte collection, never heard of it before that. i thought Trine was good craic, still playing Shadowgrounds...but i'd get this bundle just for VVVVVV...it's so addictive. been playing it all evening.

Playing this the last few days.

It's worth the 10 euro, really fun game. It was 5 euro yesterday on Steam.

Been playing through Metal Gear Solid. It hasn't aged all that badly for a game that's around 13 years old.

Tried the MSX Metal Gear games as well. I wouldn't recommend them.

Just got my first Xbox Gold membership the other day and started playing Black Ops properly for the first time. I totally get how people can become obsessed and addicted to it! It's stunning!

I didn't like the online play of Black OPs, it was too slow paced, and the maps were awkward and overly large. They didn't bode well to team play. With all its flaws, MW2 was still a superior gaming experience, imo.

I've just downloaded Age of Empire Online, which was released free-to-play there the other day. Currently downloading patches which are taking an eternity. Hope it is worth it, I lost days with other AoE titles.

Some of the Trinket challenges are kicking my ass right now, but VVVVVV is such a good game.

Really? I thought MW2's maps were much bigger (Wasteland was needlessly big). I thought Black Ops was much better balanced. In MW2, certain perks had clear advantages while in Black Ops you can play any style you like and be successful.
The single player was also better, IMO.

Only one more day to wait through until I get Space Marine beta access. I wish I'd signed up for the Honor Guard when I had a chance so I could download it at midnight tonight.

Although, I suppose I could be positive and think of it as Relic's way of congratulating (or comforting me) depending on whether I get an offer from LIT or not :D

How did you get access to that? D:

Public beta access (unless I've gotten my dates wrong)
    • Steam pre-orders: Beta access on Thu 18th Aug
    • Honor Guard registrants: Beta access on Mon 22nd Aug
    • Everyone else: Beta access on Tue 23rd Aug
I'll look around for confirmation, but that's what I was told by a friend (who had the Steam pre-order)

EDIT: Confirmation - the Steam pre-order (no mention of THQ eStore pre-orders, which seems a bit peculiar) is, in fact, the 18th (rather than the 19th as I originally said). Also, many pics. Looks pretty brutal, although that's hardly a bad thing in the 40k universe :P

EDIT AGAIN: Seems there's going to be a live stream from Machinima on the 23rd at 10am PST (5pm GMT, I think) which could be interesting to watch (if I'm not glued to the demo at that stage...)

The maps were bigger, but any large maps had massive sight lines, to counteracted their size. Any large Black Ops maps, had areas where you could run the length of the map, without ever opening yourself to sniper fire, forcing everyone into close combat. It was impossible to cover your back as a sniper in most maps. It was more balanced, but it lost its fun aspect as a result. It was nowhere near as addictive. I'd say I barely hit lvl. 50 in the online play compared to Lvl. 70, 5th prestige on MW2 IIRC.

Team Fortress is now a 10gig download. Does anyone want to let me use their internet to download it...? :P Stupid mobile broadband download caps. :/

I'll download it for you and lash it on a CD if you want?

You might be able to do it in a DVD compressed, I'm not sure. (definitely in two though) thing is that the total amount for the TF2 GCF files (the TF2 ones and the Source Engine ones) is like 11.8gb now :\

On top of the GCFs, my \team fortress 2\ folder takes up another few GB, but I don't think that folder needs to be added
