How do you make a pool table faster?

I have a pool table in my house and I got it second hand. However its i a tad bit on the slow side. I brush it about twice a week and i try to keep it in good condition. Is there anyway I could make the cloth a bit faster? Cheers

Try ironing the cloth. No steam. Iron in straight lines going in the same direction as the cloth is brushed.

A good brushing and ironing should help. Keep the place warm too.
