Judgement mortgage - how do I discharge now the 12 years are up?

    please can someone help me?

In early 1999 a judgement mortgage was issued against my home. My "EX" forged my signature and borrowed money from a joint bank a/c. I was the only 1 with an asset so they came after me. I tried to defend it but the bank were putting up a fight and solicitor advised it was better not to proceed. Anyway - 12 years have passed and they have not enforced it. Does a statute of limitations apply or is it just on land rather than a house?

I am afraid to get my hopes up that it may be possible to remove this weight off my shoulders (finally). Can anyone give sound advice. I have tried FLAC, citizens advice, the internet, DAS and a solicitor but nobody seems to be 100% sure about the specifics and I have been told conflicting stories. DAS said its there for life, solicitor told my to consult a conveyancing specialist, FLAC read something from the Judgement Mortgage and Land something Act 2009? (sorry not sure of proper title)

Any Knights in shining armour like to come to my advice aid? Regards T x
