Do laptop harddrives have a seperate warranty to a laptop?

I bought a laptop about 18 months ago and the harddrive's on the way out. Clicking alot. The laptop came with a years warranty from dixons - but is there a seperate manuafacturers warranty on the harddrive (since they usually give generous warranties if you buy them seperately)?

No they don't come with a separate one unless you specifically purchased one like you can sometimes on dell. I presume you've backed it up before it does fail?

Yeah i did just there, thanks. Made an image of it on an external. Pity about that - a years pretty damn short for a computer with so many possible parts that can fail.

Yeah, a years warranty is too short on products like these. 2- 3 years (which is whats offered by harddrive manufacturers at least. Probably because they want you to be a able to rely on their backup security) It would make more sense on something youre paying half a grand on. A hardware fault is a hardware fault.
