Well just had her towed by my local mechanic to his workshop? Brief history so far...

Yesterday, got in and turned key but didn't hear the normal hum sound before ignition. Turned key, engine was turning over but not firing up.
Last night, decided to try again by getting a tow down the road and when I let out the clutch in gear, engine came to life but when I slowed down, it cut out again. Battery is fine, no loose leads or wires as far as I can see.

So he reckon's it could be the fuel pump gone, it's a 95 Sunny 1.4LX.
Anyone had any previous experience with Sunnys and fuel pumps?
    How expensive are they?

Had one done alright, can't remember the price cos it was a while ago. And I'm fairly sure I got ripped on it too. I had the same - no sound from pump when I turned the key. We gave it a few slaps of a mallet but it didn't do any good for us. Mechanic reckoned the car was at 150k miles, and over ten years old with the original fuel filter...

Hi Brabus. Prob similar to a 95 primera I had where the pump went on me. If you can wait for delivery this is good http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-SUNNY-91-97-FUEL-PUMP-TOP-QUALITY-BRAND:-NEW-/300541966619 around €50 for a new pump delivered. Fitting is relatively easy if you are up for it. Top access under back seat. Just disconnect the battery in case of a stray spark!

Well got the car back this evening, fuel pump was €80. He also gave her a service too. Will bring her for a good spin later on.

About that €50 fuel pump, I found on another website a disscussion about those fuel pumps and it was known that they give trouble.
But thank you for your suggestion, it was appreciated.
