(Dagbladet): A witness told Dagbladet that he observed a suspicious figure in police uniform, two minutes before the bomb attack on ministries in Oslo. - I sat in my office looking out the window in the OBO on Hammersborg square. I would take a phone and looked out the window. There I saw a tall, slim police officer who was wearing a helmet. He also had high shoulders, as if he had something under his uniform. - The uniformed man sat in a brown or beige light car. It was bigger than a van. It resembled an old Volvo or something. Two minutes later it exploded, said the eyewitness.

Even though there is no certainty it is very likely that it was some white supremacist group. The guy who went on the rampage on the island was Norwegian looking and very tall. As for the reasons behind this atrocity no clue.

The guy could be a convert. I thought some islamic group already claimed this.

The suspect wore a blue sweater with police badge. He is not a police officer, the police confirmed.

possibly the same man did it all, but not confirmed...shocking if thats the case, wonder what would be a motive for a local to do this?

John Walker Lindh didn't look particularly muslim either (how does one even look muslim?), and converts can be just as extremist as bred persons.

Choice of target, as well, doesn't strike me as being appropriate for a white supremacist group, but it certainly can't be ruled out.

    NTM

Is Utoya fully secured or is there a chance that this is still an ongoing situation?

From what I understand, some US media have reported that an analyst has claimed that a group have claimed responsibility. Long way from a credible claim if that's the case.

Due to the large number of casualties on the island, there are almost continuous requests on the TV news for people with blood type 0- to come to the hospital.

But still tight security around the hospital and police checking carefully all people in or near the hospital

or al-Qaeda for that matter, Oslo central train station is close by and would have had a lot more people around for example

having said that, I got married in one of the buildings which appears to have been a target, so maybe a disgruntled wife/husband did it :P

Fully secure. They have done the initial search for casualties and are now doing a "fine search"

There are police on Utøya Island according to an eye-witness speaking on Skynews, so it could be secure for now. There are rumours though that explosives could be planted on the island so they don't seem to be out of the woods yet.

I'm sure many extremist groups/internet nerds claim responsibility for things like this, I'd wait and see tbh

No one in Norwegian police has connected bombing and shooting with any kind of global terrorism. So far, it seems to be anything but.

local tv claiming one man and not foreign

According to some it seems to be a car bomb(s).

Considering Norway's role in Nato it could've been extremists. I don't think Norway has had any sort of political violence like that before?

Then again, could've been just a plain nutter.
Nutters don't plant car bombs they go on shooting sprees.

I find it bizzare considering what we knew earlier to what we sort of know now.

It's sounding more like 1 guy is responsible, who he's affiliated with (if anyone) remains to be seen.

do muslims do anything apart from bomb ?

    1. There's no proof that it was a' Muslim'
    2. There's a difference between an Islamofascist and a Muslim.
    3. There are 16 million Muslims in the EU - if all they did was bomb then there'd be thousands and thousands of dead people.
    4. Cop, the fcuk, on.

The bomb was at 15:26 and the shooting at 17:19. Again, the drive is a little over 30 min, perhaps 45.

Seems like a very big job just for one person though.

I'm not at all convinced that this has anything to do with Islamic extremists.

If anything it really reminds me of the Port Arthur Massacre. One sociopathic person working alone who's very angry at the world. Especially since these reports of a suspicious man in police uniform near the scene of the explosion.

not at all, one bomb and a few guns

Norway has mandatory military service for men so there's probably a lot of people with the knowledge of both

In other words a false flag backfiring.

So you think it might have been an operation designed to deceive, which failed to deceive.

You don't think that maybe cartoonish Islamaphobe speculation with no facts may have been responsible for the initial misidrection and the perpetrator may turn out to be one person who wasn't attempting to mislead, just to kill, no?

Just to remind people about U.S think tanks and 'expert' groups claiming to know stuff.:D

This is looking a lot like a single person. Hardest kind of attack to detect and stop too.:(
