An bhfuil fíos ag aon duine má tá focal nó leagan cainte ann i Cúige Mumhan, Cúige Chonnacht nó Cúige Uladh mar 'i gór' (nó rud cosúil é sín) cé an bhrí atá 'for' as Béarla?

Is there an expression in any of the Irish dialects that is something like 'i gór' that means 'for' in English

(i.e. the cover is for the box)

Ag brath ar chomhthéacs na habairte, is féidir úsáid a bhaint as "do", nó "i leith", nó "le haghaidh".

Samplaí ó bharr mo chloigne (ach seans go dtiocfadh le duine éigin eile rud éigin níos deise a ofráil!):

Don bhosca sin atá an barr seo.

Scríobh mé amach clár bia le haghaidh dinnéir bliantúil na hoifige.

Fuair muid sé déag iarratas i leith aon phost páirt-aimseartha.
