you,and your friends should have made the call.and let the scum know
that the cops were on the way, from across the street..so that you would be safe.why didnt you do it?

    Out on a Tuesday night?
    THE PARTY NEVER STOPS

OP don't feel bad, like you said you were in shock, and it's surprising how seeing something so unexpected can freeze us up! It's natural.

    Where exactly did this happen?

Your man sounds like a total legend, fair play to him, I know plenty of lads who would think twice about doing something like that when they are with ''the boys'' never mind say on their own. OP don't feel too bad about not doing anything I get the fact that you were scared and you hear loads of horror stories of scummers doing horrible stuff to people who step in to try and defuse a situation or stand up for someone, i.e. kicking them half to death. I must say that I am delighted that the four of them got what they deserved, it so rarely happens.

what i saw tonight made me need to tell the story.........

out of nowhere this lad runs up and stands infront of the girl with his arms out and starts yelling at them. the guy wasnt even a big guy. a load of shouting goes on before one of the lads pushes the new guy and he just stands there and shouts more. the girl is now sitting against the shutter obv hurt and i think her friend called the gardai.

I wonder have they turned up yet.

Have to say fair fu,cks to your man, if I knew who he was id shake his hand sit him down and buy him a pint. That blokes a legend.

Don't let these people here make you feel bad, you did exactly what 99% of blokes would have done too.

Violence is a terrible thing, thankfully most adults will never witness what you just did and most will be shocked into inaction too.

Feel free to post what you seen over in the Dublin City Forum.

    Take care.

I think the reason a lot of people don't step in is because of the fear of getting a sharp object in their neck, especially lads, who are far more likely to be attacked.

Which happens all too frequently unfortunately.

People who have no problem taking a running kick at someones head tend to be on the stabby side of scumbag.

So, after being knocked down and kicked repeatedly in the head, he gets up and knocks the ****e out of all four of them?!

    Hero!

Firstly, type properly. Use full and correct words. Txt speek may be kewl with ur besties, but its rather tiresome here.

Secondly, you did exactly what everyone else did. There was no point in you wading in, getting a few slaps, and getting in the Ginger Ninjers way, and giving yet another target to protect.

My first reaction was why didn't you help, but I suppose none of us knows how we'd react until we're in a situation. Still though I don't see why you wouldn't call the guards from a nearby shop or something.

This man who fought off the scumbags wasn't a hero.

He is a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight if you will.

Why do people keep saying, you should have done something??
You did exactly what was natural to humans, which is avoid danger.

Don't feel bad about people saying that op, they're the ones without a clue, 1 out of 1000 will actually react and take action to that situation like that and majority of the time they are trained.

Those that do say you should have, really need to be put in the situation them selfs where they can try prove how much power they have over there own anxiety and fear which will be screaming at them to get away, ignore and continue walking..

I'm very sure you seen alot of people do while this was going on.

Fair play to the guy though, not an easy task, though he was very lucky one of the 4 scum didn't pull a knife on him.

what a selfless guy... i really do hope you find him. it sounds like he was in shock by the way he walked away. had the guards come when you were there? i wonder will they look for him, hardly.
maybe ring a radio show, like ray darcy, looking for him to see if hes ok and give him a big thanks, oh and that drink:)

Easy to say from behind the comfort of a screen and keyboard. In the cold harsh reality of a violent situation confronted by a bunch of scummers it's a different story. Only surmising, but as the OP said she was in heels and out for the night then presumably she was in a dress too (or dressed up), so I'm sure it would have been quite clever to march over to a bunch of lads (or even antagonise them from across the street) who are so brave to pick on girls in heels.

Well done to Ginger Chan Man for kicking lumps out of them, hope they're hurting in their tracksuits today.
