If not why and to those who are married how happy are you that you did?

Also if you want to get married would you like to have a civil or religious wedding?

Yeah I would like to get married one day to a nice woman in a catholic ceremony in a nice, old church with family and friends there.

    A traditional wedding :)

I've often thought about this. I'm only a child myself (15) but I really think I'd like to have a significant other in my life at some stage.

I'm not sure that I'd like to have kids though. However not having kids means your life's work ultimately passes into the hands of a niece or nephew or other not-so-close family member.

Mine would be a religious wedding. Mainly because my parents have inculcated a feeling of disgrace about all things secular. :(

I know women who would think this was showing a marked lack of ambition in life.

Sweet Jebus I was not having these thoughts when I was 15.

Come to think of it - I'm not having these thoughts now and I'm more than twice your age!

I'd love to get married some day :)

No, can never see myself getting married.

Its only a scam anyways to try to get money from a divorce

I wouldnt mind getting married some day but only if i was very sure abouth the person, have been engaged before and realised that you might not know the person as well as you thought you did.
i wouldnt be bothered if i never got married though. To be honest I think having children is a far bigger commitment to someone. At the end of the day if the person cheats on you, you can divorce but Children are for life. Which is why i dont want any :(

For the right woman, yeah, I would. I was dead set against it when I was in my early/mid 20s, but as I've gotten a bit older I've found I'm not as averse to the idea as I once was.

I'd still be dead set against paying huge sums for the day itself, though. I know couples who've spent way beyond their means for the ceremony/reception. It seems crazy to me.

And no religious sh*t....unless it's Rosario Dawson and she's into that sort of thing.

No way. I would never sign away my personal and financial sovereignty for a woman to have HER big day

I want to get married in a registry office for the financial benefits, that's all. No big ceremony, just ten minutes, over and done with and paper work signed. I'd make sure that a prenuptial agreement was signed beforehand just in case we divorce. If there were no financial benefits to marriage, I wouldn't get married at all.

There's no harm taking vows with somebody, and trying to live up to those vows, but I don't see any need for an official wedding.

apparently the proper way to do it in the catholic church is for the bride and groom to walk up the aisle together the giving away thing only came about in the early 1800's

Oh and to answer you Op, yes I would like to get married at some stage, cant see myself having a big one tho, dont like being the centre of attention
