€10 on sub 5:52 i'll take, want to keep the bets to a tenner, more fun that way.

Ok done but yep definitely stick to the €10 now :D

Well it just depends on what you want more - Sub 3:10 or Brian's money.
The former, obviously. Don't want to be distracted from the goal, a reward for achieving it is good. I don't want a punishment for trying and failing it

While this seems quite possible Mr S on what you've been running, you are betting on a course that has yet to be announced. That mightn't be the wisest spending of money you'll ever do.

Anyone want to bet that I will run a sub-30 10K?

Liar. I'm on the bus. Tenner on me going sub 56. Chip time unless there are serious issues with it.

50/1 you can have with me to do it in the next 12 months.

I'll put €20 on it so?

The Irish record for 10k is 27.39. At the Great Ireland Run this year, there was only one Irish runner under 30 minutes.

55.50. You're on. At least I have a target pace now. If I win I want to collect my winnings at a bar in Berlin. How about we bet in pints rather than euro (the Greeks could default and wreck the euro anyway). 2 pints to the winner?

I'm not gonna risk a grand on any bet, even if i'm sure to win. Sub 30 10k within 12 months for someone who just started running is impossible. Think of a more realistic target and we may do business.

A euro, yeah no bother. It would be worth paying 50 euro to see an improvement like that. Good luck :)

I want my athletes to run for the love of the sport and not be swayed by the flashly life associated with long distance running so I am vetoing this market all bets are null and void:p

Woddle you're first up tonight is it in the Aviva Mile? Sub 5:52 for €10.

Anyone else not at all surprised to see that Brian is the most active poster in this thread?

Sure am hopefully the pace will be quick up the front and I can get dragged around, I think 5'52 could be just a little beyond me but I'll give it a bash.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,492 ✭✭✭Woddle

I just want to state (mod hat on) this thread is for regular posters only who know each other in the real world and €10 is the max amount to be discussed on this thread and it doesn't need to just involve money, there's pink socks and banana hammocks :D

Make sure to go out fast, much faster than normal, the last 2 laps will be a breeze for you then :p
